The plans are complete. The Republic is no more, long live the Aldarian Empire :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:

Aldarians are known throughout the universe for their quirky sense of humor and unpredictability. The Empire motto is Last Kid Picked. Another Aldarian tendency is to celebrate with gusto. The Aldarian Calendar is chock full of 'official' holidays that are typically celebrated by 'drinking heavily and behaving badly' (also known as DHABB). Aldarians in the midst of DHABB and wearing odd hats should be avoided.

Having said that, in order to celebrate our new form of government properly, the following 'holidays' have been added:

December 31 – Empire’s Eve. Wearing odd hats, kissing total strangers, drinking heavily, and behaving very badly are the hallmarks of this holiday.

January 1 – Empire Day. A day of rest and recovery (see Empire’s Eve) to celebrate the date the Aldarians tossed aside the Republic as a form of government and became the Aldarian Empire.

Hello Aldarians! In case you missed it while DHABB, RB is sponsoring another set of succession games. Since many of us at RB have been playing Civ3 succession games since we before we started DHABB, it seemed a natural progression for GalCiv. Our first game was a rousing success, and we are looking to jumpstart three more games before the next patch/expansion.

This is a great opportunity for some cross-empire gaming, as well as an opportunity for some of the great players around here to give back to those who are still learning. Succession games are a great opportunity for those learning the game to see how the good players play. So, please join us and help make succession gaming a regular part of GalCiv.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, yes there will be DHABB after the succession games, if we can manage to win. Since Aldarians know how to find any excuse to DHABB, perhaps some of you would care to volunteer to assist us in this noble cause? :D

Sure, sure. DHABBing all up and down the country. :HOT: It's a hard life, but somebody's gotta do it. LOL

Double vision plays heck on a person's strategy, anyway. The AI may be sending only three frigates against you, but if you're seeing six or seven, well, you get the idea. ;)

On a less jocular note, perhaps another time then? :D

Well, since I'm away, look what happens! Top 10!

Just submitted my second game for January. Time to rest until February! ;)

I figure I have to keep plugging away until I'm in the Senate, so then I can really siphon from the public trough.

Build me an army. Currently playing a Crippling game and the self-righteous Altarians own about half the map. Going to be an interesting couple of years in the galaxy. I think I am going to have the I-League soften them up first.

In case I don't make it back here this weekend - Happy Drengin Snarf Day. Being a Giants fan, I really don't care which team wins, although it woul be cool to see John Fox get a Drengin Snarf ring.

Well, I messed up, and submitted a third game for January (unexepectedly winning by Alliance as well).

We got us a nice Empire, what with only 9 participants. A couple more months, and I'll be a Senator yet!
