Gone, but not forgotten.

"Seize the time... Live now. Make now always the most precious time. Now will never come again."

Good advice. Thanks, Jean-Luc.

He was 47 when The Next Generation started, a Royal Shakespeare Company actor most of the people watching had never heard of, and I remember plenty of people thinking a bald middle-aged Englishman in Kirk's chair was a mistake.

What stayed with me is that his captain won most of his arguments by talking. The show trusted him to hold a scene with a speech and a cup of tea, and very few big franchises would risk that now.

I was younger than he was then and I am older than he was then, which is a strange thing to notice in a week like this.

R.I.P Patrick, My Fav Captain.

He Decided At The Very Start Of TNG To Stick To Using An Upper Crust English Accent(Something He Trained Himself In For Shakespere At An Early Age) As He Thought His Yorkshire Accent Would Be A Turnoff. This Accent Helped Cement Him As A True Thespian. I First Noticed Patrick In The 1981 Move Excalibur And Was Hooked Even Then.
