Just another 'me too' post I guess judging by others... I waited for MOO3 to be released, got it, played it, started to loath it, sulked for a bit, stopped playing, waiting for a patch.
ho hum. Found out about Galactic Civilizations, lurked in the forum for a while. Dug the developers presence and finally got the game itself. Metaverse AI pack idea seems brilliant.
Played a couple of GalCiv Games now, lots of fun. while it's not the MOO2 replacement that I craved, it's very close. it has a very polished feel about it. and, the humor... chuckling at many of the specials descriptions and diplomatical messages brings me back to my MOO days. although Moo was more on the cheesy funny side, rather than funny with a bit of cheese. since I enjoy both cheese and funny I understood it perfectly. space monsters were cool too. (IMO, MOO3 took itself too seriously and fell over) anyway, enough mumbling.
if this is an indication of how things will work from now on (solid game foundation, updates, dev participation, civil forum, etc...) I think I'll stick around.
(although, secretly I'm thinking that if you EVER added tactical combat and ship designs, and made other races playable) you'd draw in lots more people (and I'd finally have my proper Moo3) hint hint, twink twink nudge nudge
if there was competition of who should do MoM2 (master of magic) for example, I'd prolly say StarDoc, 'cause they seem to know how to handle these types of games with care.
and we already have a first update 2 days after the release, and on a SUNDAY! that's great customer service, dude. (I hope some 'undesclosed' company would adopt these practices) ok, gonna go and try to win this time on 'fool' settings
