IRC Help

I feel so stupid :(

Okay, running MSWindows XP, and I just can't get ANY IRC network to connect. Admittedly, I'm on a university connection, but I've even tried changing the ports that IRC is accessed through. HydraIRC, mIRC, and the integrated SDC client all fail to connect everytime they try to. . . "Cannot resolve server" and such.

I feel like such a noob, as I used to love IRC RP chats. . . but how the hell can i get this to work ? I really wanna hang out on the SDC chats

Very possible that they are blocking IRC at their firewall at which point there isn't much you can do. Might want to check with their IT to see if that's true if there aren't any other ideas.

Yeah -.-

Buried in the PSCS section of the school website (Searching for IRC chat block turned this page up. . . on the FOURTH page of results fro mthe school search engine) said that their preinstalled virus blocker auto blocked ports 6666-6669.

Oh well. . . got it fixed now.

And had a lot of fun on the IRC chat. Sorry to people who must think I suck ass at life
