Unable to make peace with a minor civilization

Playing v4.1.1 of GalCiv4 on Steam.  Playing the mission Terran Alliance Ascendant.  I accidentally declared war on a minor civilization, but stopped short of destroying them.  However, even though I've wiped out the sole major civilization opponent, I haven't achieved "protecting three minor civs", even though my influence is across the galaxy.  I have no options in diplomacy to make peace with this minor civ.

Help?

You'll probably have to start over from a save before you declared war on the minor civ. Have you checked what happens if you click the minor civ homeworld planets, and contact them (icons at the bottom left if I remember right). See if there's something there ?

Yeah, there's no option for any interaction, unfortunately.  The other minor civs will give a summary of the species, etc. but not these guys.  They REALLY don't like me.  haha

 

I figured it would require some kind of reset or other.  Just surprised that this hasn't come up before now.  <shrug>

Since there is no peace option available, it could be a diplomacy bug or a restriction in version 4.1.1. If you have a save from before declaring war, try loading it and see whether the objective can still be completed.

Sadly, I don't.  It's not a huge deal now that I know not to attack those civs 😅

I'm mentioning it mostly a) in case someone knew of a workaround, and b) in case it's a bug or limitation that should be addressed.
