So, I'm sure Stardock is hard at work creating an amazing AI experience for us. I'd just like to suggest a great idea to make the game feel more alive on a personal level, not just a challenging level.
The general idea spawns from how races have a natural affinity or hatred for each other based on certain viewpoints within the game. I'd like to see those hatreds be passed down to the player, otherwise its just lore, and doesn't really evoke any emotion from the user. The idea isn't really innovative, but its simple and effective, and at least here, it will be deliberate.
I'd like to see each race get defining 'annoying' habits, that is intended to piss the user off.
For example, maybe a player hates how races steal technology, or ships, or personnel from them. I could see how that would be annoying, they might just start a war over it, because of 'personal' reasons. Instead of making a calculated risk. Another example might be how one race is 'dishonest' with their agreements. They might say one thing, and stab you in the back 5 turns later, but you were depending on said resource, or starbase. Maybe one race is really good at diplomacy, uses their influence for imperialism on your borders. I'll leave the rest to you.
But the general idea is to evoke emotions into the user, other than just reading that races have afflictions toward each other. It would be awesome, if the user had afflictions to races themselves.
I hope there aren't too many spelling and grammar errors! I love to theorycraft my perfect gc3 game
