does it already come with all necessary patches? I have it on gamestop, bought it through stardock. Gamestop indicates an update, which I cannot get because I do not have a product code.Is what I am seeking not possible?
If you download the game from us or any other DD outlet, it will already be fully up to date. If you have a retail copy, some minor updates may be required.

I have a retail copy version of GC2: Ultimate Edition I bought years ago. I wanted to install it on my new computer, but can't get the updated patches. Apparently Impulse is gone? I guess? This really is not convenient. Never was. Anyone know official sources where I can download patches? I would greatly appreciate it.

If you register your retail copy on your Stardock account (or create one if you haven't already) you should be able to use the retail product code to do so then you can download the latest updated copy via Stardock directly.
