I am new to Galactic Civilizations II and I was wondering if it's possible to play GalCiv2 with friends in a multiplayer game, similar to how Sid Meier's Civilizations does? I looked through Metaverse and Tournaments and I wasn't too sure if I was looking in the right places. I was wondering if someone could clarify for me if it's possible to play multiplayer with friends and where I'd go to be able to do that.
There's a way - sort of. A sort of hot-seat game can be done according to Brad. I've never tried it though.

The short answer is no, though. Galactic Civilizations II doesn't have a multiplayer in the way that Sid Meiers Civilizations does.
It's a shame, but the forum thread that discusses the how and why is reasonably convincing.
