Ok here's my idea for a demigod. One thing I love is how Oak's spirits can be used to buff his own stats, but felt that this idea could really be expanded to a new demigod idea.
This demigod is really designed to be pretty useless without spirits to help it, it even has no autoattack to speak of, unless a bound spirit is cast.
Name: The Spiritmaster
Type: General-Dark
Appearance: An unseen frail figure, covered in a hooded robe with a staff that doubles as a walking stick.
Basic concept: The Spiritmaster is based around the concept that he is virtually useless without his spirits to buff him. He is a mode-switching demigod, that provides either selfish spirits or selfless spirits.
--- Skills:
1) Bind Summoning/Roam Summoning:
This switches between modes:
Bind Summoning: Skills that summon spirits that are permanently attached to the Spiritmaster.
Each Bound Spirit will orbit the Spiritmaster, and if any are present, they each provide a very short attack in unison, which provides the auto-attack mechanic.
Roam Summoning: Skills that summon spirits that can leave the Spiritmaster's influence.
--- Bind Summoning Skills:
2) Agile Spirit:
This summons an orbital spirit that increases the Spiritmasters movement speed and autoattack speed. It also provides a minor autoattack.
3) Strong Spirit:
This summons an orbital spirit that increases the Spiritmasters armor and weapon damage. It also provides a minor autoattack.
4) Greedy Spirit:
This summons an orbital spirit that decreases the cost of items as well as increases the gold per kill. It also provides a minor autoattack.
--- Roam Summoning Skills:
5) Angry Spirit:
This summons a minion spirit that is mobile and can attack much like most other minions.
6) Stubborn Spirit:
This summons a minion spirit that cannot move, however it recieves HP everytime a creature dies close to it. Is somewhat like a Tower.
7) Haunting Spirit:
This summons a minion spirit that cannot move by it's own means, however it possesses any creature that enters it's range and then acts as a health degen. It loses HP over time, however if the creature it is possessing dies, it is healed for a percentage of the HP it removed from the target. It can only be attacked whilst unattached, and should have some form of attack activation time before it can attached.
--- Universal Skills:
8) Rememberance (Passive):
This increases the amount of spirits (both orbital + minion) the Spiritmaster may control at any time.
As I said, the Spiritmaster is useless with very low base stats across the board, so the number of Spirits he can control should scale pretty high.
9) Focussed Summoning (Passive)
This decreases the activation and cooldown timers for all skills
The cooldown and activation times should be pretty high for most skills, especially for the Bind Summoning skills to stop from Spiritmasters from heavily ramping up Greedy Spirit everytime they want to buy. Investing in Focussed Summoning however helps alleviate this somewhat.
Due to the fragility and weakness of the base stats, this is really a general that needs to use a lot of items as well, hence the Greedy Spirit. If they are focussing more on Roam Summoning however, their weakness should not be such a big deal and therefore Greedy Spirit could be seen as less useful.
I'm not prepared to play with numbers so at this point, it's just a shell that can be neither broken nor unbroken, I'll leave that to whoever may take enough interest in my concept to build and balance it!
