I came with this idea by thinking one could maybe teleport to his minions. And in fact, didn't think I would go this far, but here it is. I'm not the best number balancing guy, so feel free to add any comment.
Demigod Name: Mira
General - Light side
Background:
The king had commissioned his last desire: 10 000 mirrors for the country home of his new beloved that happened to be built in the same small town where Felicio lived. The artisan which had managed to be known throughout the country as one of the best glass blower, was in the process of recruiting his workers when his wife Berta announced her the good news. Unfortunately, Berta, soon became weak from childbearing, and Felicio could not afford the time to be with her as well as with his workers, so he asked the king to accomodate his wife. To which the king responded he agreed to take his wife and newborn in his castle for the whole period of time the commission would take. Felicio was honored at this generosity, but knew it was only if he managed to get the commission done at the king's .
Mira was born on a dazzingly hot summer at noon, the sun washing the room. She did not cry and as she looked at her dying mother, a ray of sunlight reflecting upon her mother's eyes to hers. Berta weakened despite the best medical help the king could afford and ultimately drew her last breath, her child still looking at her. Felicio was devastated, but despite the king's charity to help with his daughter, he maintained the order of mirrors nonetheless, so Felicio could only come by to see his daughter every once in a while.
Mira was 6 when her father finally polished the 10 000th mirror that would ornate Arrantxa's palace, the king's wife. Arrantxa had been a second mother to Mira, showing her the luxury of life in a court, as well as etiquette and every trick to be more beautiful than every other lady in the court. Felicio brought his daughter a piece of stained glass each time he visited and brought her in his workshop to show her how he worked. Felicio was quite surprised how the daughter liked sunlight. She was already doing intricate pieces of art with mirrors and light that could always illuminate a whole room at any time of day. She could stay outdoors staring at the sun for hours, her eyes did not even itch.
When the palace was over, they were all greeted by the king to the opening festivities. It was another sunny day, and all the court was present. While he was being honored by the king, Felicio lost sight of his daughter. Arrantxa arranged a search party to cover the vast palace. With each passing corner, members of the search prty thought they had found the girl, but finally gazed lamely at one of the fine mirrors Felicio had crafted. It was Arrantxa herself that found the girl in the upper balcony, still gazing at the sky.
"Arrantxa, do you think I'm pretty?", the girl asked the lady.
"Of course, Mira, why do you ask that?", she replied
"Because father never looks at me like mother does, and she doesn't know why."
Arrantxa never mentioned that comment to Felicio. Mira demanded to stay with her in the palace with her father to benefit fro m her tutelage when whe would come to her quarters. As the new queen was fond the the girl, she accepted.
During her teens, grew taller than most of the towns girls and demonstrated feats of art that blew away the court, the queen and even her father, who couldn't understand how she managed to bend glass so perfectly. She added a circuit of mirrors inside the palace, so strong that at noon, the rays would go straight to the kitchens to cook the food without a lump of coal or log of wood and she even made a robe of twirling pieces of stained glass that reflected sunlight so much that it hurt the eye. She would meditate for hours looking herself in the mirrors, or in a garden of mirrors all reflecting the sunlight to her, still unflinching; she would emerge from those trances golden, shining with sunlight herself.
Arrantxa would come less and less often, the king growing weary of a war that was to come with a neighbour, and her father had found a new love and visited less and less often. Once, she spoke to her father about how she was able to see her mother in the sunlight. He was afraid about that statement, as he wouldn't understand it. This saddened her even more.
The war came to the village and Felicio, old but still able, helped and joined he militia. Mira gathered every woman and child she could in the palace for protection as the enemy drew closer to the village. Anxiously the captives waited; Mira on top of her balcony as usual, looking down to the commotion. Every once in a while, a ray of sunlight plunged though the sky to rend the enemies ranks, but it wasn't enough and they pushed back the militia in the palace; the only fortified building of the village.
The enemies found themselves in a maze of glass and could only see themselves. They ran in terror as the glass moved and as they thought they saw a militiamen and swung a sword or poleaxe, they were only greeted by the weapon of a friend, who thought the same. Not a soldier from the enemy was able to get out, slain either by a friend or a blinded by a beam of pure sunlight.
The villagers got out safe of the palace, but lots of militiamen had been killed and Felicio hadn't be spared. Mira didn't cry. She went on the balcony with her illuminated robe and looked at the sun again with golden eyes. She smiled.
"Now father you can see I'm pretty."
