Black screen

For some reason, the game will only show me a black screen once I reach the main menue.  It worked fine when I first installed the game, but now everytime I try playing, it still gives me a black screen.  It seems that the problem is related to the patch, because before I installed the most recent patch, it worked fine.

System specs: Windows XP Home Edition

Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz

1536 RAM

ATI Radeon HD 3850 AGP

i get same problem, i can hear what i think is the intro but all i get is a black screen with the cursor. Updated drivers, downloaded 2 times and tried some of the other possible solutions already covered.

 

XP windows

 

q9550 2.83ghz

3gig ram

nvida 8800gt SLI

I can set up a game, but as soon as it loads the screen goes black - all I get is the cursor. I have updated graphics drivers. 

Windows 7 (64bit)

8gb ram

amd radeon HD  5670
