Hey all,

I finally got started on the campaign, and have noticed that it's impossible for me to research any defenses besides Armor. There are no Shield or Point Defense options? Is that normal in the campaign?

I'm in this monstrous war of attrition against the Drengin, but because they have 4 planets to my 2, they can simply throw hordes of smaller ships against my technologically superior ones, because I can't put any defense tech against their beam weapons on it

Just wondering if that's normal for the campaign? or is there something fishy going on in my installation?
I checked on a normal random game, and there I can research them fine.
