I haven't noticed this until now, but you're right. They both have the same mass and manufacturing cost, but shield generators give more shield strength. For tiny ships: mass 3, manufacturing cost 12, strength of shield generators 10, strength of barrier fields 8. Strange indeed.

Were people able to demand stuff because they had a bigger army, right after they declared war? This doesn't seem such a problem now; I fought an empire that was simultaneously at war with two others, and they refused peace (without any demands) right until they were destroyed. And, as I tried to explain above, locking you into a war for a fixed number of turns is rather incompatible with "War of Defence" which is supposed to be a short war. And declaring war has slightly more consequ
Why can't we talk to a civilization with which a war just started for a fixed number of turns? (Btw where can we even see what that turn limit even is?) What's the point? Especially because the AI is not limited by this; they can suggest a cease fire much earlier than that limit. This was tolerable before but with the new war goals feature in Warlords, it essentially makes "War of Defence" all but useless. Let's say I want to destroy some communication starbases because a foreign infl
Sorry, I had "hide basic palette" checked for some reason, so not a bug. However, I think the designer options could have been... designed more intuitively. And a short description for what the settings actually do could have been included.
Actually, the second thing I mentioned (the ship style choice before the editor) is only partially true. The selection does appear when I click the little down arrow directly (and not the style name itself). I still don't know how to solve the first problem though. Enabling to rescale dimensions separately is something I cannot do with only design gizmos (and they are harder to use, at least for me).
Lately (noticed it today), when editing ships, the advanced design window (where you can edit the position, rotation and scaling of parts) no longer appears when I select a part I placed. Is this a bug or are there some new settings I don't know about (or forgotten)? Additionally, when accessing the ship designer from the main menu, I cannot manually change the ship style, only through the randomize button, since when I click on the ship style, nothing happens.
When selecting the random citizen option for a custom civilization, the citizen option reverts to human each time the main menu loads. This includes game restarts and going back to the main menu from a game. It is really tedious to set the citizens to random each time I start a new game.
I'm not sure auto-volley works as intended. First off, it seems every fleet (those that can) is using auto-valley on every targetable fleet. This causes pirates, that are supposed to ignore probes, destroying probes because they happened to end up close to a probe at the end of their turn. Auto-volley is also used by anomaly defence fleets. This is usually a minor inconvenience. However, if a heavily guarded anomaly happens to spawn near one of your starbases, it will bombard it every
