If bought the Beta on the Epic Games Store, will it be possible to "move" over to steam once the final version is relseased? The base game obviously works the same, but the Steam Workshop is something I use a lot with GalCivIII, since its perfect for quickly getting new ships and factions, so I would really like to have it available on GalCiv4
So we've decided to have an AAR option where players can review battles that occurred which includes an updated battle viewer. We're going to be delaying the beta as a result.
This is the best news I've received regarding GalCiv IV except for finding out it was coming out and there was early access
Honestly, very very pleased to see so much support for the battle viewer after the first few posts in the thread had suggested to me that most players didn't care for it!
I knew I was in the minority, but this thread made me realise I'm almost completely alone in this. For me the combination of ship designer + ship builder is the *main* reason I like GalCiv over any other space 4X. Having a battle viewer with pre-built ships does very little for me, but then spending as much time as I do designing your ships and then not being able to see them go at it feels a bit pointless. That being said, I think I'm ok with actually seeing the battle on the map. It doesn't
So, I know battles are going to be fought over turns rather than on a single encounter, which I think is great. My main question is more "cosmetic" I guess. Namely, will there be cinematics like in GalCiv3? I realise I'm most likely in the minority among other grand strategy/4X players, but what really sold me on GalCiv3 over other games in the genre is the fact that you can visually design your ships to the most intricate level of detail and on top of that watch them go at it with ot
