I hope there will be TOS and a Workshop Agreement form for users must to agree to to use the GC4 Workshop. Then we can go from there to stop the abuse and piracy with guidelines and rules to that regard. Moderation will also be under rules, guidelines and a code of conduct so moderation is both courteous and professional. Thank you for the compliment. I will try to be a good moderator.
Just took a look and I think the duplicate Tyvom race should be removed. It's just creates garbage in the workshop with altered duplicates of the same civ races. Also civs with no description and not giving information to players what's civ is about should also be removed and the author asked to add what the civ is about in the description before uploading it again. If they cannot do this it shouldn't be allowed to be uploaded to workshop in my opinion. This
Received no alerts yet from Derek. Have to wait until we get the mod tools. I'm going to look at the violation.
Moderation tools are not ready yet as far as I know. Soon I hope.
I'm looking very forward to seeing the final draft of workshop TOS and Moderation guidelines. I'm also looking very forward to working with everyone and helping get the piracy under control. Please schedule a meeting of Moderators so we can discuss the moderation guidelines and code of conduct?
"Good news everyone!" We are working hard on moderation tools and expect to have our first pass at them by the end of this week. A more robust system is being built out for a future patch. We'll get this hammered out -- thanks for the patience, and for the continued feedback! Ron Burke Director of Live Services, Stardock
Good news indeed! 👍😁 Please keep us posted. I'm looking
If you're using version 1.01 it does this because the Snathi race is absent from the game. Snathi will be in version 1.02. and will be fixed in the next update.
I think we all agree we all want the piracy to stop. I and several others put up with it for several years on Steam. I hate it as much as you do. Stardocks Forums Moderators on Steam did the best they could. I have no complaints about how they moderated the GC3 Workshop on Steam with the restrictions they had to deal with. I am sure we will do better with Stardock and not having our hands tied with the restrictions workshop moderation on Steam had. It's going to
Quoting MrStarTrek, reply 49 Some users just don't care or give a damn. In the online skinning world that very much was the case, mostly years ago now. It was a constant battle to keep on top of it all when many said "if it's online it's free to
That is why I said it's no accident they do this. It's quite deliberately done. Original authors name in the item box is quite bold and can't be missed. Some users just don't care or give a damn. These are the types that need to be weeded out and I hope with the moderation and workshop guidelines and rules we're still formulating they will be. However we just can't ban everyone for the first offense, ( except you know who, that guy deserves a full year ban outright ) first time offend
Ed, that is what it was changed to. I think its pretty fair and firm so far. We do not want to be too strict or heavy fisted as Frogboy suggested and we do not want to drive players and users away from the game. We will get this all figured out so its both fair to users and strict enough to stop piracy from the abusers. Bare with us, we will get there, It will take some time, trial and error but eventually we will get there.
Hello Ron and thank you for the kind words. I'm looking forward to more input, suggestions and ideas so we leave no stone un-turned and have the best possible guidelines for both workshop users and volunteer moderators. I took the opportunity to post on the Steam GC3 Off Topic forums with a link to this thread for volunteers. I'm hoping for your input, suggestions and ideas. Please feel free to add your own ideas, suggestions and changes. They're not my guidelines they are everyone's

I'm still stuck with version 1.01. no update from Epic games yet.
OK, here's an edited version of my thoughts for workshop guidelines. Feel free to give feedback and constructive criticism. Everything is still open for discussion and changes. I will be adding to this and editing it frequently as new ideas are added and changes are made. Keep checking back for amendments and changes, thanks. As one of the most prolific Star Trek content providers if there was a copyright complaint from CBS and Paramount I would have no problem taking them down from workshop myself. I think the only times I have been harsh to another player in regard to stealing, pirating and redistributing under their name is when they repeatedly did this and/or flat refused to remove it themselves and resorted to calling me profanities. It's happened quite a few times on Steam, to the point that I
Holy moly!!! That's some very valuable research you did. I wasn't even aware of this. Thank you very very much for bringing that information up. Thank you for doing this Eride! I feel like I've just been schooled and in a good way. Awesome 👍
In my opinion, no one should be posting modified designs of existing designs in the workshop outside of rare occasions. Cramming the workshop with copycat designs is not only unfair to the original creator, but it also reduces the usability for players. I don't want to have to scroll through a bunch of similar designs looking for "diamonds in the rough." I also don't want to have to rely on only looking at the highest rated des
Jafo, I would like you to help us understand the difference between US copyright law, DMCA and international copyright law so we get it right the first time. I am somewhat familiar with US copyright law but could I use more information on DMCA and international copyright law. I would like whomever is selected including myself, if I'm allowed to become a workshop moderator, to be familiar with the differences should any moderator have to take action against a violator they don't get misinterpr
I like the way you think gypsy. My spouse said the same thing. I still want to hear what Frogboy and a few others think before I edit out what you suggested.
The second warning lets the violator know the moderator isn't going to allow them to get away with it for very long and lets the violator know they are now on a short leash. A VERY short leash. If anyone else wants the second warning and 3 day suspension removed, I will take it out. Should probably just make 3 strikes and you're OUT.
