Asteroid Impact a large asteroid crashes into a world mostly destroying the colony there. Many buildings destroyed HUGE population drop and the planet class reduced. Planets with Planetary defense, System defense or the Omega Defense thing are immune to it. Also could do smaller collisions that have lesser effects and maybe a planet cracker asteroid that just totally destroys the planet. ~SDC~

#9 Star becomes unstable. A random picked star becomes unstable this lets the civilization who controls the star system have a chance to research a cure for it which if you successfully do this event wont ever effect a star owned by your civilization again. If you fail to develop it or choose not to try the star will in x amount of turns either explode destroying all planets around it or will change type negatively effecting the planets orbiting it. Also if the star explodes it can negatively
For good Church of the Eternal Light. A new religion that's purpose is the utter destruction of evil. +20% Morale and +15% soldiering as it will encourage the formation of Zealot Soldiers. Perhaps have it be a wonder that only a good civ could build. ~SDC~

Perhaps a tech that allows life power engines and life power weapons to be used giveing evil races a new ship type or two at a cost of some of a planets population if thats doable.
Yes some of the existing invasion tactics would be more fitting to an evil race. Mass Drivers and Gas Attacks look especially evil. Maybe add some more nasty tactics for the evil folk While limiting the Good races to less brutal tactics.
The MOO AI can invade planets but only LATE game and you basicly have to open the door for them. I was getting WAY bored with fighting the mini fleets that they sent every turn to this one planet they Especially seemed to want. so I basicly abandoned the planet and waited and waited and WAITED. somwhere around turn 490 they finally did a ground invasion, and lost to the tiny army my vicroy had built. MOO 3 has to be one of the worst games I bought in the last few years. I am counting down the
Well I have been one of the ones waiting for MOO3 since its first announcement and I have to say I am very disappointed. Overly complex could have do the same stuff in a much more simple way. Instead of making ways so you don't have to micromanage if you want not to they basicly force nonmicromanageing on you as I had my ordered builds overridden by the AI and they would continue building utterly useless things like tons of troop ships I didnt want when they SHOULD have been building coloney s
Really the more I hear about it the less I am looking foreward to MOO3. And that includes much info that has been given on the offical web site as well. I really loved MOO1 and MOO2 and was hoping for a game that was similer in tpye and Moo3 so far doesn't seem like that game. That said I still plan to buy it but I get the feeling that I will be playing Gal Civ long after MOO3 gets retired to the reject box.
1. When i talk to the Alexians I tend to get the no string found rather than a greetings message doesn't seem to happen with anyone else though i have yet to talk to all the event made minors. 2. Majesty Mark II and Majesty Mark III are available at the begining rather than requireing Majesty tech for Mark II and requireing Majesty Mark II for Mark III. I think the required skill has a typo in the GCTech.Tech file that causes this.
It was already said that a new general public beta would be released since Galciv was delayed. All i can recall hearing about being added is the more AI work and the new seeding of stars thing. As far as I know no date has been stated. Thats all I got so far hopefully someone will add more info on it.
The worst delay I have had in the current build is about a minute on 24 * 24 and even that much is rare. I have P4 1.7 Mhz with 256 RAM and only play the largest galaxy size. The minute delay did happen when both I and the remaining 3 AIs have tons of ships in movement including a large fleet under my control during a war late game. Most of the time I have 2-5 seconds wait even during autosave turns.
It is much better thanprevious builds in preformance. I use a P4 1.8 Mghz, 256 ram, windows XP. Longest delay was about 7 seconds on gigantic for autosave and a similer one during one turn of a huge war late game. Rest of the time it moved along fine and so far no Crashes. Only tryed two partial games so far though.
I play on gigantic. It gives me more time to play generally.
I notice this as well though its not happening every game anymore. Generally its the Carnoids or the scotlingas for me.
Much smooth almost no wait time between turns even later midgame in a gigantic galaxy where everyone has a ton of ships and two wars are going on! Random events, the type that give a choice not the story events that don't, seem to be occuring much less often though thats only from one game so far so could have just been luck of the draw.
I occasionally see an odd downturn when I load a saved game but it seems to for the most part correct itself after about 3 turns go by. I havn't had the Starbase problem in the current build but noticed it ahppened very rarely before 3z1.
How smart did you set the AI majors to? If I am not mistaken that has an effect on decideing weather its a cake walk or not.
I am looking foreward to beta 4 but would much prefer a delay if it gets us a more quality beta. Also will help because we won't be giving you already known bugs if you delay a small bit. Oh I have seen this with other betas perhaps you can post a known bug list when the beta 4 comes out so we don't keep rehashing whats already known. Though if possible a small fix that repares the stacking bug would be much appreciated.
What I am looking forward to the most is the ship stacking bug getting killed. Makes it impossible to fight the pirates or a hostle power in flight as it is now.
I hope they keep them. Useful effect and great for trades.
Its an odd thing I have seen to. I have been in several undeclared wars and unasked for alliances. Occasionallty I find I am at war with or have an ally I havent even discovered yet.
I think they should at least have contact with you before they surrender. I have had several surrender to me that didnt have contact yet. Though this hasn't happened with the newest build so may have been changed. At any rate empires surrender much too easily the way it is.
It has seemed more stable to me than before only had 1 CTD out of 5 games started.
The minor races still don't stay in their own sectors but rampage over the galaxy. Also and I believe this was noted before I will at times find myself in alliances and wars I didnt start and had no message telling me I was in it. Just will either get a message from my ally or get the message that you are at war with such and such we also declair on you.
