When you select a fleet there will be a list of the ships in the fleet across the bottom. You can select (select multiple ships with ctrl or shift) ships here you want to split from the fleet then just move anywhere and the ships will split. If you have a lot of ships you'll need to use the scroll wheel to see them all
Not exactly sure how food production works. My people are starving and I'm not sure how much food I need to produce to make them happy. I have a core world with 12 citizens, and 4 colonies attached with a total 15 citizens between them. So all totaled I have 27 citizens I have a input of 14 food, and output of 43 food yet they are all starving? How much food do 27 citizens need looking I thought it should be 27 food. I really like the idea of characters that have their own agendas, and backstories. Reminds me a lot of the characters in Shadow Empire (great 4x game btw) , where you have to make sure you keep them an eye on all your leaders and see to their needs before any revolt and start a rebellion. Great roleplaying potential. Thanks for the update can't wait to play GalCiv4. Auger
Great news! Can't wait to play.
