Did you set all the game video settings to low? You could also have other background programs running (antivirus, impulse) that you didn't before. Since you are on the requirements borderline, any additional application can slow your game down. Reformat windows...
That's a bit of bait there, but of course I understand they exist. However, I don't believe they exist in numbers anywhere near those you are claiming. Particularly where DG is concerned.
There will be no source numbers for Demigod ever. Just like all other pc games, we won't ever know the real numbers for retail or digital. You can live in your world where Demigod sold 40,000 copies. I'll

Sins of solar empire, a game release in Feb 2008 by Stardock, sales number source: 100k in 3 weeks. http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/37078/Sins-of-a-Solar-Empire-Sells-100K-in-First-3-Weeks 500k by September 2008 <a href="http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin

100k sold by May 29th 2009 Source: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/demigod-expects-100-000-by-next-friday No exact number since. My estimate at 10k units sold a week online and retail stores. Sins of a solar empire sold about 10k a week in 2008. Total would be around 280k sold as of today.

This is what happens when the team or whole company in this case moves on to the next project, Supreme Commander 2. Then leaves behind 1 or 2 person to continue working on Demigod fixes. There is no hard deadline so they won't work longer hours or weekends. It's done when it's done. Brad is just the messenger and usually pretty optimistic on the release dates. Boss ask the developer "When is 1.2 done?" Developer "Atleast 3 months with

Both are very fun games. The playerbase, number of players is very important to me. HoN has 10 times the numbers of players playing. I'm play HoN everyday and never meet the same person. This is the reason why I left demigod and keep playing HoN. Demigod peak hours has about 2,800 people. HoN peak hours has about 28,000 people. Getting a game going in HoN usually takes less than 3 minutes.

Played all 3. I like Demigod and HoN the most. I wish Demigod has as many online players as HoN. It's why I stop playing Demigod because there is so few ppl. getting a game going takes alot of time in Demigod and it might not be balanced. Lots of ppl in HoN so games start quickly, autobalance works sometimes which is better than nothing. LoL is ok, just not my favorite. I can see that it can be newbie friendlier than HoN and it's free.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/demigod-expects-100-000-by-next-friday My guess is that Demigod sold between 160k and 220k copies. Probably closer to the low end of 160k. Sins of a solar empire, a game also publish by Stardock, sold 10k copies average a week in 2008. Sales of Demigod is probably half of SoaSE so my guess is only 5k a week. It took SoaSE to sell 100k
Being as all of Blizzard's RTS games come with the World Editor suite, and the popularity of Starcraft, I'd be willing to wager the first Aeons of Strife remake or sequel would be a mere handful of hours after the launch of Starcraft II.
I read somewhere that IceFrog, the person maintaining dota currently, has beta access to the world map editor already. Other people might get early access as well so a dota might be

July NPD 10 top PC: http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/the-sims-3/1014020p1.html You probably heard this before, NPD is local store sales only. So Demigod might be selling ok online at impulse. Lets look at the stats page. The number of people playing online in July and August stayed in the 2000 average online player. The online player base has not grown or shrunk. imho, I

There have been other gpg and demigod related articles. The Mike Marr interview in April talked alot about Demigod and gpg. The Intel Chris Taylor video interview around June talking about using some intel related code in Demigod.

Great post OP. I feel 100% exactly like the OP. I wanted a competitive game that I can be playing for months to years. I'll still be around here and there to try out the new demigods, new maps, etc. I had fun in this game and it was worth the $45 dollars, cost me $5 extra for preordering. Like he mentioned it will be a game I'll remember playing for a few months. The OP never bashed demigod. He was just praising the other beta dota clone games

I play custom games. yea, it sucks to have only 3-4 games. I recommend you host your own custom game, call it 'newbie USA 3v3' or something similar. Stay far far away from skirmish and pantheon mode.
