Differences in licenses of Objectdock and individually purchased apps. in Stardock Support General Stardock Forums

I don't know if there is a significant difference or not, but I'm curious as to how it's meant to work. If I look at Objectdock, it has a clear timelimit to how long it is in effect. I assume the subscription timelimit is for upgrades and will not limit the use of the applications after it runs out? Also, my separately purchased applications doesn't come with an expirationdate. Does that mean that by buying all components individually I get updates until the end of l

As the subject suggests I'm looking for something entirely different than most of the themes I can see here. I know design is a very subjective issue, specially when it comes to minimalistic no frills designs. I want something that makes my OS look clean while still retaining usability. The main focus of themes here seem to be more on the flashy detailed side than just simple, good looking and effective. Any suggestions? :)

Well, process explorer seems to launch as 64bit. *shrug* I'm waiting for the 64bit native objectdock anyway. There's no excuse for not making it... Using putty for telnet can be accomplished by putting a telnet.bat somewhere early in your path. c:\windows\system32 would be a good place I figure. 1.90.033 is the latest version of objectdock. I'm assuming they found some problem with the beta that warranted a removal of it from the servers. This implies something more serious than a mere systray issue though, and if it is, you're better off without it until it's resolved.

I tried launching sysinternals processexplorer from the dock, and it correctly starts procexp64.exe. It suggests that it works fine. Also; If you don't use telnet for some obscure reason, I suggest you use PuTTY instead. It's free, open source and also support SSH. http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/download.html

Running a beta may result in unwanted effects, it's not what you paid for. Actually I've found no indication whatsoever of any update to objectdock at all. It simply stopped working overnight. Which also is implied by some people who hasn't even run impulse or stardock central at all, and also lost their systray. As far as I know there was no patch to vista that night that could explain it. The only thing I can imagine being a problem would be that the system clock somehow is involved in this, as that's the only thing I can recall actually changed between when

Ok, impulse now dropped me back to 1.90.033 and regardless of "show previews" setting it doesn't change. My weather docklet doesnt work which implies a way too old version. Something's fishy... Or is it simply what you tried to tell me but I didnt quite comprehend? :)

This is an interesting read. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Object desktop really should include the functionality of ultramon, with full support by the other bits and pieces. But then again... Windows should include most of the object desktop functionality too, or atleast allow for this kind of software to actually *replace* the window features they improve on.

I disagree. Dump the different suites alltogether! There should be an automated discount system for people buying multiple software from the suite instead. If I buy windowblinds and then decide to buy the full suite I'm just screwed on my money as this works.
