I like the friends idea, BUT, can you do something where people using the friends match option will be more likely to play against others also using the friends option? Otherwise you'll still get legions of people crying that premades are stomping pugs again. Also, I want to play with my real life friends when I can, I only have a few games a night to play, will I be able to play ranked games with them or is there "just a chance" I'd be able to play with them using this? I

good idea, unfortunately my play time is only 9pm pst on, precludes me from a lot of the nice activities people set up in online games :-( I hope to see this go well though, maybe some late night tourneys will come hehe.
You guys play during my play time. I don't have xfire but I assume that's some free voice program I could get. I wouldn't mind playing with you guys some games, I don't generally chat because it wakes up my family, but I can listen to orders lol. I play many of the demis pretty well, I've played with covenn before (or the name looks familiar if not). Send me a pst if interested, I usually play from 9pst on, we could even schedule a time and go into a chat channel or so
To those getting blade of the serpent: Do you not also need a velmish anyway to get your mana pool larger? I experimented a while back with the blade and found when I needed to use a lot of mana in a short time I'd run out unless I just happened to be near a creepwave at that exact moment. So in the end I was getting a vlemish anyway which kind of defeated the purpose of getting the blade. With just a vlemish and this build I hardly am having any trouble with ma
3 rooks on prison is Ridiculous , some team did that to me when I first started playing
I will never understand picking just fire or just frost.
I understand what you are saying, for you the hybrid is the best build. I can see why with having good skills from both lines. However there are a lot of abilites to get, going hybrid causes each form to have a good skill, going full fire or frost allows your form access to skills at all times. There are definately some good strengths to that for both bu
Until the fire aa bug is fixed fire is far weaker than frost. Frost can do as much damage as fire but doesn't suffer the same retarded aa issue drawback. Also frost mana regen for your team is excellent, frost nova snare plus stun excellent, interupt is very excellent against so many things, cooldown increase. Even after they fix the aa bug the forms will be more equal, but frost still has way more utility. It should be that fire has superior damage to make up for it
For Frost TB I love it, for other classes its nice and sometimes I get it sometimes I don't. I don't always get it for Frost TB either, but I do like it best on him.
Good to know, maybe I'll try it next game I play as Torch, variety is good anyway hehe.
Hi Sho, You can try using that, a lof of people like the Blade and activation to save them from getting a mana helm. For me I feel it leaves my mana pool a little too low for my tastes. Also for me I can bust out rains of ice a TON of times even early game by just switching forms often enough to keep my regen up. Also I really like that early speed and even though boots are only 5% less it really seems like it makes all the difference when I play, costs me kills, and
Good idea, let's rely on the obviously broken friends system that I havn't even had a chance to play with RobWild with.
LOL, this thread is full of win. I wish there were a far better way to join games with friends and make new ones. As for the challenge game matchup, I'd love to be involved in that, so lame that it is so hard to play a game with someone I don't know irl like wicked.
I think you underestimate what the mods will be able to do. I'm not sure how many modders are out there for this game, but I think if there are enough out there all of a sudden you will have new maps, new units, new demigods being designed and created just by the ambitious who want to do so. Then GPG or whomever is in charge of approving these or what not can take the most popular and balanced ideas and allow them in. This could add a ton of new content depending on what is
Yes, matchmaking would come along using the ranking system, would be so nice. Pretty simple features it would seem, but I guess not hehe.
I'm glad I can play with my friends, but yeah this system needs to change for more competitive games. Premades are fine, but we need: --Ranking system that shows up on your avatar in the lobby, so everyone knows whether it will be a good game or roflstomp --Good communication system that allows to make new friends and start games together if that is what you would like to do
I prefer the anklet currently, so many people forget to run early enough and find out its too late against a frost aura plus anklets TB, not many demis can outrun it.
Yeah you can drop into frost pretty easily, problem is if you are using the auras is which form you are in determines whether its being used which is why I mostly don't go hybrid. @TheManick - It wouldn't make sense that he is the only demigod that can't AA on the run, fire does not offer any legitimate benefit for not having it, and having it wouldn't overpower him imo. As it stands fire is underpowered compared to frost for just this reason, if he has aa in fire it would be a
If you are talking about switching to ice and chasing with AA then yeah you are correct that works quite well. For me I don't even bother with the fireball part, usually I'll open with a rain of ice that hits them and the creeps around them instantly giving me a full army of creeps while theres are dead, then run in with aa blazing from there, its not much less damage than fireball and the cast time is faster. Like I said, when/if they fix AA for fire so you can move and use it
If so can anyone explain the online portion of it? I'm curious the ranking system and how the online portion of the game is working before I go out and buy it. It is my understanding you can already have the game through impulse right? Also I understand that you can't play xbox players, that sucks but as long as there is a good online ranking system and community tools I'd still be interested. If anyone who has the game could post or point me to a place on the internet
Yeah I played fire again last night, I normally go frost now. I'd say Misfortune is spot on. As soon as you can autoattack while moving in fire form (if they ever fix it) they will be comparable again. Fire TB with the aura for speed and damage can put out impressive auto attack damage, unfortunately you can't use it against enemy demigods at the moment cause of the bug. When you can fire will be strong again, maybe not as strong as ice IMO, but much more viable.
Haha thanks for the guide link Itchy. I love me some full frost TB, full fire is fun too but frost is so versitile. I think the key with playing TB (as well as any other demi really) is knowing when you can win and when you can't. You can't just use my frost TB then go toe to toe with a demi at all levels and circumstances without dieing. You rain them, you auto attack, you back off when they charge, until they hang aroudn just a bit too long, then you charge in for th
Does anyone know if SF4 will be playable against those who have xbox? Also does anyone know what kind of online ranking system they will have?
Good poing Ob, some sort of player ranking so you could tell the skill level of the player would be a nice alternative if they didn't want to make it display the entire win loss record. I think in warcraft 3 it was like that, you would be like level 20 or something if you were good, 1 if you were new or just starting. I'm not sure how they determined it though, I was actually thinking of loading it back up again just so I could take all the things they did right and suggest them h
There is too many grey area's to come to a conclusion here. What if I play with one friend and one PUG player? What if my friends and I don't use vent? What if I play with my brand new friend who sucks at the game? Are all these scenarios "premade"? I don't play with my friends to roflstomp people, I play with them when I can because its fun. Also here's another example. I didn't play with any of my real life friends last night. The second gam
My friend plays behind the same router as his brothers as well. I think changing the impulsreactor.exe file was the solution, gave each computer a set of 20 ports or so, but that may be a bit complicated and not necessary, we're both tech guys so we went for it and seemed to have cleared his system up.
I'd say for attacking the "right" demigod you might be better served attacking the same demigod whomever the first teamate is attacking (unless for some reason the guy he isn't attacking has low health). Even if the first person chooses the "wrong" target, you are both likely doomed if you don't try to focus one down. So I'd say a better statement regarding that might be: Focus enemy demigods with your teamates, try to attack the same target unless there is a compelling re
