I am really happy to see Ironclad succeed. They made a fantastic UI with great visuals to back it up. My only major complaint is the game offers very little replay value for the single player. After the inital rush of several games is over and the player learns the AI tricks the gameplay basically becomes overly repetitive ( some random events could add greatly to the dynamic feel of the game ). Despite this, I still support and applaud Ironclad's attempt at merging 4X and rts elements i

I have CIV IV - the complete edition still in it's shrink wrap. After playing alot of Civ II and Alpha Centauri I just couldn't maintain my interest level in Civ III for very long ( Been there done that ) . I bought Civ IV really just to support Firaxis and TBS PC gaming but I still haven't muster any motivation to play it. Gal CIV II on the other hand keeps me plenty busy and I'm throughly enjoying the rich strategy goodness. I will pro
Well if anyone deserves a well deserved break to count their millions it is you Mr. Wardell. Thanks for all the time and effort you devoted to making PC games fun and hassle free for PC gamers . Hope you have picked a good protoge for continuing the quest of keeping PC gaming relevant.
Wow, a RPG model after a Bioware game would be awesome. Not sure if the have the programming/artistic resources to develope such a title. Probably should just stick with the strategy games since Stardock has the most experience with this genre. I would love to see a merger of the complexity of Gal Civ with the tactical action of a SoaSE. Sort of a like Medieval/Rome/Empire type of a game but in space.
Definately SP first and foremost. Outside an occasional MMORPG I never play MP, however I do know that their is a sizeable population of folks who live for player vs player action. I would like Elemental to focus on the SP experience with a secondary objective of providing a fun MP for those like to mix it up with human opponents. A great SP experience generally has a following traits: A great storyline/campaign, highly moddable, A map/game Editor fo
I find competitive too stressful, I rather play at a leisurely pace. Also, while I enjoy a challenge I don't enjoy getting my behind handed to me. I generally find most games have an AI level that provides enough challenge to keep me interested. Unfortunately, Sins AI is tad predictable and even I can exploit it at hardest level (which really isn't saying much since I rarely find myself overcoming the hardest AI level in other games) . It's unfortunate they designed a
I 'm coming out of lurker mode to throw my two cents. I prefer single player games and I have been waiting very patiently for Ironclad to improve the AI and perhaps focus somewhat more on the single player experience. Since it seems the developers cater mostly to the multi-players I am starting to realize that I may have to write off Sins as a game that had great potential but failed to meet my expectations. I am hanging on to see if the Diplomacy mini expansion throws a bone over t
I with you hdaboy, I really would prefer the devs spent a little more time is making a sneakier AI. I'm just not into multiplayer I find it too stressful. I like to be able to hit pause examine the situation and make adjustments. I been playing a different RTS game where the skirmish mode is fairly challenging and giving me a decent fight so I know it's possible to have a decent single player AI. What mods are currently created to expand
Hey Thanks harpo99999, the .Net 3.5 did the trick.
I couldn't find a galaxy forge 1.1 so I upgraded my Sins to v.1.15 and I am still having the same issue. I have confirmed that I am running .Net 2.0 framework. Do I need the entrenchment expansion for this to work?
Still running version 1.14 of Sins - no mods. Decided to try and make a custom map. Downloaded and uncompressed galaxy forge 3 into a stand alone directory. Galaxy forge crashed upon launch stating "GalaxyForge has encounterd a problem and needs to close" with the standard send error report to Microsoft. Any ideas to resolve this? Thanks.
I am a single player gamer too, but I would rather see Ironclad improve the single player sandbox mode then a campaign. When I think of great single player games MOO/MOO2, Civilization(s) , and the Total War series immediately come to mind. None of these games had a campaign but they all had compelling single player sandbox modes. Most of these have a long term game appeal in that you still find yourself firing up a game years later just to reminisce the fun times you had playing such games.<br/
I am sucker of a good cutscene here and there.
Seriously, I would drop windows in a heart beat if there were truely great games that were native to Linux. The only reason I own windows is for the games and if consoles had a keyboard/mouse for an interface with more complex titles like Sins I wouldn't even own a PC.
I have confidence that Ironclad will introduce more elements into game for the single player. To me, as a single player, I understand that the developers were looking to provide replay value in a sandbox mode ala Civilization/MOO type fashion. Unfortunately, after playing several games the gameplay just plays out the same way almost everytime. It's just a little to repetitive in it's gameplay for a single player. I am waiting patiently for Ironclad to add a little more random/dynamic elements in
I think the reason most 4x games do not include a campaign is becuase they usually have 8 or more playable factions that possess an almost identical play experience. While MOO1 and MOO2 races had unique racial traits the research tree, planet management, and ship (weapons/defenses) designs were essentially the same. Also most 4x games provide the single player a huge amount of challenge, depth, and replay value with their random maps. RTS games usually have several playable factions wit
