I think the oil companies are looking to double their profits again next year too. 8-20 million in a couple of years at Stardock...and prices going up all the time? Less support? Less ability to release new things, even at a much higher price? Sounds good to me :) I didn't really need the money anyways. Let's start submitting those skins folks!

Hmm... I notice there aren't any new smilies for the forums. Seems like a pretty easy thing to add-since they were custom made for this site. That's not why I'm posting though. Having installed Vista Ultimate tonight (got it for FREE - by the way), I was very impressed with the improvements that Microsoft has made. I have found my computer to be as fast as it is with XP - which I have set up to be able to access via dual-boot. I was very UNIMPRESSED with CursorFX, whic
erm... so no more premium suites for WindowBlinds then? And the price just more than doubled, if I understand this right? Wow & ouch.
The WB has vanished now (???), but I got it while it was still up. The browser is a old SpiderMan browser that was licensed by Marvel some years ago & no longer available (except virus ridden versions) I kept a local copy. :)
Thought you would like to know...if you didn't already.
With Impulse, we are opening it up to all publishers of all venues - games, utilities, applications.
So this is purchased adware? Anyone using this application will be served ads by any company you allow on Impulse? I don't think I'm understanding this right. The application itself is beautiful but it is already adware. Opening it up everyone is quite a statement. Is there going to be a way to disable advertising in this program or is everyone going to have to li
This is great! :CONGRAT: Everyone I know has been craving more politics. Especially more campaigning! The campaign seasons are just not long enough, and I don't think they ever could be. Knowing how evenly divided this site, it's forums, Joe User, and the owner of all of these (you), are....it should prove to be a lot of fun for all conservative ditto heads. I'm sure this will sell like hot-cakes. Overcooked, burnt-out hot-cakes. Well worth the $19 + for welfare mama's everywhere.
We *try* to use our power for good.
Yeah! Jeeze! That is clearly evidenced by all the help you've received from this thread. Why call people names when all they are trying to do is help you? You've received all the information you need to know to fix the problem - or not. If that isn't good enough for you...well, tough. *loads scoped shotgun*
I totally agree Neil. I am not trying to be overly combative & I know that there are a heck of a lot of combinations of versions of software that can cause these problems. My issue is that there was no way for me to know about this without systematically going through each program. Honestly, each program, as it relates to another is most likely the problem here. But I have given you the .dll that was ID'd with the MS error dialogue. I have also said that I *think* it may have to do with Google D
From Frogboy "Maybe it's because I'm a sick, scummy, evil capitalist who eats babies when I'm not on here flaming web hippies but what is it with non-producers constantly asserting that other people are greedy for not working for them for free." "That's one of my biggest peeves with the Internet. We now have an entire generation of web hippies that not only expect other people to work for them to be free but have the audacity to accuse those producing stuff of greed
I'm sorry Zubaz. I was not very clear.I just meant that I spent many, many hours figuring this one out & I'm not going to give all of the details for free. I know that the folks who run these sites don't like people who have a "entitlement" attitude so I don't think Stardock is "entitled" to the full information (though I suspect they knew about this already since it is fixed in the latest beta). I'm glad to help users since they have paid for a defective product. If Stardock wants the full info
Problem..."explorer.exe" decides to crash on system boot after installing Virtual Desktops (stable). CMD line will work to get it going, but only if it is used after the system has loaded. Experience...I have re-formatted 4 times in the last week with a brand new computer. I have tried just about everything to figure out what was going on. Countless hours have been wasted tracking down the problem. It is Virtual Desktops "stable". When it crashes, it ID's shdocvw.dll. I
Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't realize that this thread was meant as a self affirming moment for Stardock, WinCustomize and its long time customers.... customers that won't pay the price for these changes. I was under the illusion that opinions were welcome when in fact they were not. At least not ones that do not match your own. Please, feel free to raise the price all you want without further complaining from me. I won't be submitting either. I will be sharing this experience however. "After
dude, that has to be the most ridiculous statement i've seen posted here in years

these statements bashing stardock and brad for having two different versions of odnt are quite comical. i have yet to see one that has a valid argument.
No lump of coal for you this year! :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT:
Just because I don't explicitly mention a component doesn't mean it's been removed.
People have asked about various programs & I didn't see a response so I assumed if the weren't listed, they were being taken out. Sorry if that's my mistake.
That said, as a practical matter, if you plan to "never" upgrade from Windows XP, then yes, Object Desktop will have a decreasing value just as it did for Windows 95 users and Windows 2000 users in turn.
<b
The Breakdown from an XP perspective WHITE = Products that will still be offered for current price RED = Must pay 40% to have &/or keep YELLOW = Apparently Removed * This uses the list provided in the original post by Draginol I use XP & have no plans on moving to Vista. This restructuring of the software is clearly a benefit to Vis
It seems like everytime someone calls a software package "Ultimate", you can expect to take it in the bloomers. Less for more. Yay. The only program I use in your "Ultimate" is Right Click and I'm certainly not going to fork over an extra $20 for that alone. I was planning to learn & use SkinStudio but I'm not going to pay extra money in hopes of providing you with free content. The addition of "My Colors" appears more to a benefit of Stardock than anyone else. I don't want it. I don't follow co
I was thinking about upgrading my PSPX & was on Loadboy's site when I came across a link to http://ussenterprise.blogdns.net/blog2/archive/2007/02/16/316.aspx It seems that Paint Shop Pro XI introduces a license protecting spyware program called PSIService.exe upon install. I couldn't find any posts about this here so I decided to post it myself. Guess I'm sticking
One last update on this in case anyone is hoping it will be re-started. I e-mailed MS and received this response....... Quote:
What happened to the free product option? Thank you for your interest in the feedback program. Due to overwhelming response, the supply of gifts have been exhausted so we have closed our free product offer on 12/11/2007 at 2pm. Thanks to everyone that participated! Didn’t receive email confirmation during enrollment
Dec. 31st. - That's what it said when I saw it too. I told some of my friends and now it's not up anymore. Even stranger is that I got a couple of site certificate warnings when I went back to the Microsoft site. Maybe this is just a glitch. ;p
When I signed up earlier there were references to the free software. Now I have gone back and all references to the free Vista etc. are gone. It would appear that this has been discontinued without letting anyone know. If you sign up now you are just giving away your info for nothing. :(
Really great submissions!
Yep! Thanks!
Super - THANK YOU
