I don't want to edit my other post so I'm going to write stuff here. Ok. the shutoff thing keeps coming up when I hit the vote button in elections, or when I vote to go to war, same thing. This didn't happen the first two days I played this galaxy... And 1.4x worked WITH the same drivers I'm using now... I'm going to fire up a new galaxy and see if wasn't just a random coincedence. Something like this happened before, every time I hit the turn button so it wou

Oh. musta missed that.
Did you run the shortcut multiple times? This seems a bit odd. Yeah... for some reason, the game runs slow if I don't... I'm going to check out those sites, and see if it helps. thanks.

Um... how do I do that? Just cut and paste whatever it says into the reply box? Or is there some other way that I'm missing?
Posted an 80,000 point game the other day That's quite impressive. Anyway, Welcome.
On my first game I had no clue what I was doing, I just sort of played around with the buttons. I had two planets, the Arceans had about 25. The Yor were equivalent to my state of peril, and the Arceans kept asking for money. There was someone else in the game but I can't remember. Anyway, for a long time, I hated the Arceans guts, I wanted to kill all of them. After a while (35 games), I started to hate different people, especially the Torians, they always nab way more planets t
Ok. so I had v1.4x and there was an update thing in Stardock Central so I click on it and now I've got v1.5 (I also archived them, and I have no clue what that does, but since it was on there, I sopposed I should). Only one problem, it keeps triggering this pop-up that says GCII has performed an illegal action (yeah right) and must shut down, we are sorry for the inconvienience. I even checked the debug.ERR file, I didn't see anything, I also checked my mods, nothing wrong there either. <b
Ah... now we're on to something! you could place your fleet inside your starbase AS a fleet (so you don't have to re-form the fleet when they leave(actually, thats a good idea for planets too)). But don't let them form fleets with the starbase, just have the starbase shoot from the sideline. When the guard fleet is destroyed, its time to attack the starbase! Of course, this would mean that starbase modules should have less attack and/or defense bonuses because you can guard t
That doesn't sound like normal difficulty, Sound more like Suicidal. (er... no offense) If you start with stellar Cartography (If you don't, get it as fast as humanly possible (considering the humans are the only ones that start without it)) buy a couple colony ships and send about one to each of the spots on the mini-map that have really tight clusters of dots. And put some factories on your homeworld so you can build more colony ships later. Put some Economy, and happy centers o
Hmmm... maybe I haven't played enough 1.4x games... The biggest galaxy I've played on it yet is a large. Thanks for the info.
Well... it would seem more like a real starbase. And it would keep the camera from anoyying me by moving over to that ship all the time when I have nothing for it to do and no room to put it on one of my planets. It would also let your ships repair much faster, and upgrade your ships for a lot less than normal.
In all of my games I have never seen a planet square with the Precursor Library bonus on it (700% research). I've seen Precursor mines several times but not one of these. Where did they go?
No. I don't mean clothes hangers for the Captain so he can have a nice day at the Vurtualy generated quad-D Beach. I'm talking about places to put your ships inside your starbases. Like a module called Hanger, that allows you to fit about 6 logistics points worth of ships in the starbase. I didn't think of this myself, I was browsing through the English.STR file and I saw a list of starbase abilities, one was ShipDocking, and another was Terror Star, which interested me becaus
Ignore my whole problem, I fixed it!! Apparently I wrote several things in wrong.
I could have easily paid them to not attack me, and then build up a huge military to wipe out anyone who dare appose me! But, I guess it is better safe than sorry.
Ok...Small galaxy, all victory conditions enabled, I choose the Iconians, give myself econ , military prod., research, trade, and something else for bonuses and I pick the Pacifists. Races...Torians, Yor, and Drath, three good, one evil, sets the odds of a diplomatic victory for me pretty high. Difficulty = challenging. I research the basic stuff, propulsion techs and whatnot, then I decide to go for a diplomatic victory, and I research some diplomacy techs (that includes trade). <
I've never seen luck as very helpful (but I play DL), and creativity, well it makes events happen more often (I think), so it only gives you bonuses if you're evil. The answer to your question is NO!
Whichever metaverse character has the medals, hit the default button for him/her, then it should show in place of the blank spot. "there are two medals I don't get. Racial victory and Wounded in action." I don't get what those medals mean either. You can't delete posts.
I decided to join this empire after receiving the following update in the game: "The Korx are pursuing a cultural and economic strategy. They are currently researching Planetary Bombardment, for instance." If that isn't a sign to join the Hitchhikers, I don't know what is. I have also seen sighns to join this empire. Once, the Torians contacted me to give me a gift. The message went something like this. "We wish t
Hmmm.... If the routes longer, its more profitable, but the merchants don't like it, so its also less profitable, which leaves it just as profitable as the shortest route possible. Here's the Idea... So lets say a route is twice as long as the SRP (shortest route possible), well lets say the profit would be 10bc instead of 6bc, but because of the merchants not liking it, your route will only go up in value (10bc) every four weeks, instead of every week. So I'm going t
OK. I've been trying for about two days now and it's really ticking me off, I can't get my ability bonuses mod to work. I'm trying to make big bonuses, at low cost, so I changed the bonuses on every one, and I added two of my own, Logistics & Miniturization. Anyway, the only ones that show up are the two new ones (after I moved them around), and the Economics bonus. Logistics didn't show up until I put at the top of the ability bonuses file (cut and paste). I have two conclu
OK.
Mars and Venus are also undergoing global warming at a similar rate to ours. We aren't polluting there. Mars doesn't even have an atmosphere to pollute.
but realistically how does one's cargo become more valuable as you haul it through space? (Lets say a person lived in the U.S.) Why would they prefer water from Poland or Canada when there is water near them? There's an illusion of quality. Oh, i'm not saying that they are of the same quality. Yes. In fact, America gets most of it's everything from china, but it's far worse than anything we could have
