When someone wants an empire to be added to the MMV do they have to request it. Also do we have to play mods in order to submit games.
That should now be fixed, please try again. Also, ditto what Cronk said, this is a beta, so bugs are to be expected ;) .

Do you know how the tech trees work in TA? If not, I'll just say here what I think the system is. We have the TechTree.xml, which contains all the techs that will be needed by all the races. Each race then has its own TechTree file named in RaceConfig. These files are structured similarly to the main TT file, but only include entries containing the internal name of wanted techs (look at one and you'll know what I mean), and this tech's info is then grabbed from the main TT file. Any changes y

Sorry about that, the attachment seems to have gone walkabouts. What you need is to save this in a file called ModDescription.xml and put it into your mod folder.
Default Mod TA Description
According to the modding guide, is unused, so I guess it isn't possible to set up a different coloured homestar bar using a custom map, but of course then you wouldn't get the planet textures. I'm not sure about the asteroid fields, though it could be the spaces in the Name: none of the stock asteroids have them.

First off, each mod should have individual instructions as to how to install it. As a general rule, mods go in the C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\Mods, \GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\Mods or \GalCiv2\Twilight\Mods folder, depending on what version of the game it is for. After that, you launch the game, go to options, in the mod section, click 'change', select your mod, then restart the game. If it is the first time playing mods, you probably should click the 'default' button on the mod sc

I've been getting an issue with DeskScapes on XP SP3 with a GeForce 8500GT & latest drivers. Any dream I apply will work for a while then will freeze and start to ghost whatever was on the screen before. Restarting explorer.exe seems to fix the problem temporarily.

Are you trying to set up your own custom race with its own entry in CustomPlanets? If so, it's probably a good idea to set it all up in a mod folder ( see here for that), including your custom races in a RaceConfig.xml . Then you can clear your files in My Games and it will show up if you have linkd the races wih their systems.

Well here in the UK people can leave school at 16 and go on to college, although the law was changes recently so that you now have to be in some form of education up to the age of 18. Although, am I right in saying that in the US college and university refer to the same thing, whereas in Britain they are different stages of education? I am myself in my last year of school and personally I cannot wait to move on to college. I think that if some people in America think themselves ready t

All the starbase shipcfgs are part of the S0 shipstyle and work for all races. For example S0_CultureStarbase0 is the first stage for a culture base. Also, if you want to play TA with your modified design, you will need to put your new files in the TA Data/ShipCfg folder. Hope this helps.

No, there is a stsytem in place so each user can create an empire if they want. The idea behind it is that you play with mods, but if enough people want to play the normal game with it I don't see why we couldn't integrate that.
