You are correct. I believe they called it "Tactical Warp". Romulans got better warships and the Klingons got the cloak. However if some trekkie out there can answer this, have you ever seen a Klingon ship other then the Bird of Prey, cloak?Klingons got the cloak from the Romulans. This was in FASA but not in Star Fleet Universe.
Klingons cloaked most if not all of their ships in TNG onwards. From what I understand cloak was traded for Warp, though the Klinks gave

Wow those star flares look fantastic! Will use them upon release!
I assume you can have a custom video trigger instead of the dread lords ones. perhaps some one from the sfc or bridge commander community will let you use an in game video of their Andromedan mod ships? Either way, look forward to more work from you.
Yes we are working on one. Please give us some time and you'll be very pleased with the results.
I'm looking forward to some teaser screens! ( HINT ) ;)
@Tilarium. With the Fed ships, you have to research up to advanced or Superior hulls before you see them. This may not be the case with the version 2 ( been too busy to use yet ), but it was with the V1 @AF.... Got to love TOS/SFB Kzinti... In fact, SFB Kzinti hulls, never actually looked that good!! Too plain and featureless for me. That hull looks great. Can't wait to put them to use.
I will point out that I got confused at first because when I selected the ship style I only saw stock freighter/colony ships. This was with the Gorn/Romulan And Klingon packs. Not sure with the feds though. Maybe the OP is only basing it on the ship selection screen?
I think my first game was Harrier Attack on the Amstrad CPC 464, though my family had an earlier Sinclair and Toshiba home computer before that, but I was too young to remember them. LOL After the Amstrad, I graduated up to the Atari st, then from there to the Type 2 sega master system, then the Mega drive, PS1, N64, etc etc. I didn't get an actual PC until about 1998. Though thanks to using PC type computers in my childhood, I took to the PC immediately. I'll never forget the
Looks good. I would use that as some kind of breakaway faction of the Terran Alliance. Your last pack was good, so look forward to another one.
Thanks Kryo. Knowing it can be done, means that if I choose to expand the campaign in future to include the Branching structure, it can be done. For now, it's just a 5 mission capmaign, with and Intro movie, a few mission introductions, and a Victory movie when you finsish. I've just got to build the maps, and set everything up in the campaign file. Hey Foxthree. I got the movies by using a plugin on firefox, and downloading them from Youtube. I then converted them from FLV to A
Hi all. Not been able to find an answer on this, so thought i'd ask here. In the campaign editor, there is a Win/lose section on the screen where you place the mission/scenarios. I've looked at the TA campaign and they have numbers. They seem to be for example, on the first mission, if you lose, the number is 1, and if you win it's 2. I'm assuming these numbers say if you can move on or not. What i'm curious about however is does this mean we can create a branching mission structure
I found a Youtube video that was low quality sadly, but it was good enough to allow me to make sketches of one of the sides in colony wars. Hopefully i'll be able to find images of the other side soon. The isc shouldn't be that hard, at least if you're going for the SFB style designs. The seltorians aren't much different either. Look forward to more hulls.
I love the work you've done. I have Trek ships styles in DA, mainly ones I've taken out of the Startrek mod, and that i've made texture alterations to, added normal maps etc. I've not had the drive to move them into TA yet. Looking at the ships you've done with the editor, I find them more satisfying to see. Perhaps it's because they have race colours and are more easy to use when making new classes of ships. Either way, great work, these will stay in my TA as a permanent a
If we're talking of ships from old games... i would love to see ships from the old Colony wars series. They were some great games, with fantastic setting. The Voodoo class of the second game was brilliant.
Hahahahah, nice jump in Fox. I've downloaded packs by both you guys, and i'm sure there is at least 1 or 2 custom races that use some of those logos. Naturally, i'd have no life if I had time to put them all to use!!
Sounds Great. And an EVE mod? Does that mean ships from EVE too? Look forward to seeing shots of each of the mods you're working on.
I was never a big fan of wing commander personally. I would be interested in seeing perhaps a Freelancer or Homeworld conversion. Would you make an actual mod, or would it be easier and more time efficient to use Twilights tools and tech tree etc, to simly make balanced race and ship packs? Either way, you are one busy modder Foxthree, and get massive respect for the commitment you give. I'm sure that the mod will be great too.
Good post. I for one wish I could do as I want to do. I would love to be able to put across my personality as it is at home and with friends in work. Sadly, for my job, I have to appear to be professional and well educated....at least when the boss and the public are lurking near by. If I was the owner of a 20 million dollar company, I would likely take much the same approach. Though I wouldn't bother with the boat or Porsche.... but I'm UK based and the government would try to steal i
Though if you want to add some more BSG ships I was playing around with some I found over at the Battleclinic as part of a side mod I was working on that is similar but not nearly as advanced as yours. I would love to play this one some time. Would you consider making it available if nothing else on a case by case bases or something.
Hey Aggie. A BSG ship pack from what you've gotten from Battleclinic would be great. I've seen some nice models there, and seei
Hey dragoon what changes did you make in the mod so we can compear mods.
Everything I did was placed on top of Gauntlets Race mods, then took all of the star trek ships that I liked, did the lights and normal maps on them, then arranged them built a new set of ship styles and race configs. I did the same for all the star Wars ships, ie. Ships styles, bump maps, lighting, races etc. And I built a colonial BSG race, though for the medium slot, I retex
The Star wars mod where making over at I-Mod is going to crush the star trek mod mahhhhhh!!!!!!Just joking really great work. You should be very proud of what youve done but you caint stop Star Wars we will have a mod soon may the FORCE BE WITH YOU.
All i've seen of the star Wars mod are ship packs. Perhaps we could see some images of tech trees, races, GUI? No matter to me, i've taken work from all of you and turned it into my own personal super mod w
Nice, look forward to seeing a release. Would be great for making into an individual hull style!
Perhaps DrathKar is touching on something that many people do feel. Not presuming to speak or shape his words, but America has at times behaved in a way that is counter to the ideals it proudly talks of. However. On the same point, Australia one could say treats illegal immigrants in a way that is disgusting to many, and the basis of Australia as a nation is one of the wholesale death and mistreatment of native peoples. Going to the post Colonial age, we can look at the Australian g
What does it matter if either happens? Life will go on, no matter what state that may be. The greatest threat I see to America is it's internal religious issues. As far as I can tell, Americas biggest threat is itself. Like any " empire " or nation, it must have the desire to hold itself together. The UK is a good example in some respects. 49% of English want to break the Union, about 48% of Scots at the last poll i saw want the same, 29% of the Welsh want a break, while in another poll
I would think with the support Stardock gets from folk like us, the chances of them going under is unlikely. They would have to make some monumental mistakes that drive our custom away for that to happen. And with other developers releasing games, and the possibility of expansions to Sins..... and DemiGod... I think it fair that the future is bright... besides, I assume that as long as you archive each update to the games you have, etc, you should be okay for the worst.
I had a similar problem. I also added my custom races info into the Galciv 2 races XML in the DA/Data/DatEnglish folder. I made sure the Homestar info etc matched. However, for some reason I could load one of the races for me to use, but I could not select the other races I had made as opponents. I'm still trying to suss that out. Despite this, my custom homeworld/system graphics did show up.
