I've read all the post and have a slightly different approach to extreme colonization. Recently I have been playing as either the Altarians and maxing out my tech advantage. I have largely ignored the toxic, aquatic and barren worlds in my area of the galaxy. Quite honestly, I use them as bait. Invariable Yor or Iconians will colonized them. Sometime the Iconians flip from cultural advantage but I play attention to how the Iconians, Korath and Yor are building there militaries and I design

A usurper "empire," the Auri, has claimed the 11th rank from us. Actually an empire of one individual who seems to have found some bug to manipulate and produce scores the likes of which I have never seen. I am reminded of the legacy of the Iron Guerillas.

Senators and Overlords, The AI has reclaimed the #11 empire ranking and the Padishah Emperor has climbed from #37 to #30 with the submission of two more successful campaigns. More Krinti hides added to the Throne Room as Franue falls before the onslaught on the Padishah Emperor and yet another of the Kzinti Patriarchs minions, Slayer Churuff now falls within my sights. I shall add his bones to my throne in within the next week or so.
Campaign Update - The AI custom race campaign has taken some interesting turns. The Thalan Empire is little more than a footnote now but we hit a brick wall in the war with the Krynn Consulate. Our tech advantage is nearly gone as we are still only fielding medium hull vessels and they have sent huge hull vessels into the fray. We have only been able to keep a stalemate going because of our star bases with lvl 3 fortification (gotta love those). The Iconians, the Arceans

Another conquest posted and the Hitchhikers fall to within 34k of our grasp. Soon the #11 rank will be ours and then the Colonial Fleet must be vanquished. Another Kzinti Hide adorns the Great Hall of the Padishah Emperor as Hraak-Riit (Aka Cat Gut Gumbo) is displaced from the 37th rank. Sad too because Moo2 was one of the best space 3x (explore, exploit, conquer) strategies of all times. I have high hopes for a Moo4 or GalCiv3 but for right now I'm looking forward to the next expansion for GC2.
Nice to see the Fremen get some props. Sorry about the sneezing, spice probably makes for terrible hairballs, perhaps the Kzin equivalent of the Bene Gesserit spice agony.

Thanks good to be back to the metaverse. Chapterhouse rocked its the two books after Chapterhouse written by Frank Herbert's son and Kevin Anderson. They did great on the prequels but I'm reading the two final books know and I'm just ok with them. Your right about the open ended aspect of Chapterhouse, the story wasn't finished but it has been.
I would love a cloak. I wish that was an option now. Definitely would want a 3d map.

As it should be :) No the last 2 books aren't as good. The Gholas storyline was a bit over played. Careful though, unkind words about Dune and I'll send facedancers after ya....
