See [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/310812"]here[/link]. The great Frogboy himself answers your question.

Ok, one more try. I am really curious to see your answer Frogboy. Any chance you'll give us one?
It sounds like your serial number info might be wrong. For the quickest resolution, shoot an email over to . They'll probably have you going by dinner time.
@Mumblefratz The main reason, the long and short of it, is this: DRM. Stardock doesn't use cd copy protection, but they can't just host the installer to their life's work out there for anyone to download. They chose a platform like Steam (though FAR less intrusive) to give everyone access to what they paid for. I feel the same way you do about what run on my system. I keep very strict control over what does and does not get installed/run/etc on here. In the case of SDC and
I think it might work better to just divide up the scores by category. Sorta like the AltMeta. You could still have a top ranking category that is like what we have now. That would certainly make it easer to be number one with all the new number one spots. If you win by culture, you'd just go into the culture category (and the top ranking too). Just a thought.
First thing we need is what exactly happens when you try to download with impulse or start Stardock Central. Please post your debug.err. Did you happen to play any of the betas?
1. Do the factories on a planet contribute to the planet or to your civ as a whole? If its just for the planet then should you just build one or two factories for a planet that is not for making ships?
Factories provide production only for the planet on which they are built. If you are not going to be building ships, you should build however many you think you will need to upgrade at a reasonable rate. given enough asteroid mining bases, you might not even need one. Don't fo
Is there a reason you don't want to use that method? I assure you, neither program has had any record of causing harm or having spyware/malware.
-{Updated}- Now with cool, refreshing spelling! Ok, I've been playing custom races for quite a while (pretty much since my third game), and I've accrued a few by now. After updating them for TA, I decided I'd share 4 of them that I find quite fun to play with or against. Most of these were created just to test out certain strategies as they each specialize
I think they may be waiting to see what changes we request for TA. Brad has already got over 200 posts on his thread asking what we want. No point in making a manual that is invalidated after a week.
Brad, please refund his money and blacklist him. Please?
Ah. I see. Thanks for clearing it up for me. Now that I know the topic at hand... It is always best to clearly identify the problem before trying to solve it, no? I see this as a temporal problem. The main issue is that not all players are online for the full game time span. To broad... simplify. Ok, the issue is that the game must still be fun to play when not all players are online. The age old question. If someone can state it better (as I'm sure they can) please do.<b
Stardock Central did have that ability as an option. I believe it was even enabled by default. Perhaps they will give you such an option in impulse too now that they know you want it.
I use spies on neighboring civs to get low espionage ability. Then I can see where they are going and beat them there.
Your point is not only very accurate, it is quite obvious. The only reason I can think of that SD has set it to enabled by default is that Impulse is in beta and therefore used currently only by those that wish to test betas. I hope they change it before release.
Well I guess I am starting over *sigh*. Maybe i'll update to 1.8g first.
That would be a most excellent idea.
Frogboy mentioned this on another thread. The inflation is by design - researching a tech adds a little to the cost of all other techs. Possibly it's just more visible now because we can see the cost of each tech before researching it.
I was going to mention this as well. I recall something about this being the intended way it should function, though perhaps not so severe. I wish I could experience this bug! I think I'd like it so long as the AI could handle it too. I
The mega events are triggered by different things in the game. You probably were in a position that egged it on. I can't really recall what conditions supposedly trigger them. Actually, I don't want to know. I play with surrendering disabled. It was really cool in DL, but I've grown tired of it for now. I'll probably re-enable it at a later date. I once had an AI surrender to the attacking force. Now that is unusual! They said something like, 'We cannot stand against the m
It sounds to me like you might have been in software rendering mode. That sure looks like the CPU was doing the work of a GPU.
1.8g is the latest version. Are you playing a metaverse game?
If while playing you zoom out (scroll wheel on your mouse) far enough, the beautiful 3D graphics will change to 2D icons. This is your tactical display. You can much more easily identify offending ships (as well as their type) by the icons and the color which they have. This is also a great way to find your ships. You can press the [tab] key or press the find button in the bottom right of the game window to locate ships that still have movement points left. It seems like I r
I was just helping a customer track down an annoying intermittent problem. AT&T's top level support said they thought it was a mole digging in the ground bumping the line every time it went past. They'd have to catch it while it was screwing up to be sure. Now thats and explanation!
I have ships scattered everywhere. How can I cycle through the list of ships I have and go to their point on the map to give them instructions?
There is a planet/ship list that is opened via the leftmost button at the bottom of the screen.
I am also used to being alerted (in other similar games) when foreign ships enter within my planet or ships scanning range. I've noticed that I have to manually look for my ships each turn in order to see if anyone has popp
Well done Hunter. I wish I had had the patience to respond as kindly as you have. An excellent suggestion.
Agreed. Kudos to you! :congrats:
Just to clarify: You don't have to use normal res aspect ratio when using windowed mode, you just can. As always, check that you have the latest video card drivers.
