Well, it's been more than 24 hours and still no serial number nor any word from Stardock on what's up. Can I please get my serial number? I ordered early in the hopes I could get it early. Now I'm just hoping I can get it at all. I emailed Stardock sales, but still no word from them either.

I play online coop with friends against AI opponents. While AI is a lot more predictable than playing against real people, I'm an older gamer, 45, and really get sick of the childish crap with online play. Sadly, most of the time when I have played online some immature jerk, who has much more free time than I do, spends all of his time destroying opponents that aren't even any real competition to him. And if he starts to lose, he just bails. I'll take

Only through buggy Impulse?!?! NOOOOOOOOoooooooooo......... I have had nothing but trouble with Impulse. I'd gladly pay more to get a copy some other way that actually works. I'm still having problems with some of my GalCiv2 installs on Impulse. Frankly, my impulse is to ditch Impulse. I just tried to look up this expansion pack on Impulse and guess what? It's not there (or I couldn't find it at least after seaching and searching). If I buy

I think the original poster makes some good points. I loaded up the beta (after finally getting Impulse to work -please go back to Stardock Central until Impulse at least exits alpha stage testing) and I too was surprised by how little had changed. It mostly seemed cosmetic to me. I agree about the fighter/bombers point wholeheartedly.

First: PLEASE FIX FIREFOX COMPATIBILITY! 3.0 has been out awhile now, and we're still getting the same error. Every other site I visit that had issues fixed it WEEKS AGO!!! Second, why did you use such a buggy delivery method as impulse to deliver the beta? I mean, Impulse looks and feels like an early alpha. I can't get it to work properly on any of my three home computers. I can't get it to work properly on my work computer. NONE of my friends can get i

I'll try that. Can you give me some more info on BITS service? I've never heard of it. As to more info, I'm not sure what you need but will be happy to provide it. I originally had the beta installed, but have since used Stardock Central to upgrade to the non-beta. Stardock central handled this without issue. Impulse seems to be confused by it and refuses to give me any updates. Thank you for the help.

Is anyone else having problems with Impulse? I can't get it to work right on either of my two computers and a friend of mine is having problems with his SoSE install as well. On my notebook it says it is preparing to download but then never does anything. On my desktop PC it won't update my latest Galactic Civ addon thought Stardock Central works with it just fine. Frankly, I'm really unimpressed with Impulse. It consistently doesn't work. I just want

I regularly play MP games with a friend of mine where I host the game and he connects to my machine from his house. We just use port forwarding and it works fine. The one problem we have run into is if we're playing a big game we can't reload it later because his machine will never catch up and it will list it as lagging even though his ping is like 29 ms.

I don't see why you guys are complaining. I really appreciate that they're giving us an approximate release date. If you don't make it, that's OK. I know when it might be out, and that's all I expect.

Yeah the game is far too one sided toward offense, so you are forced into playing offense. Defensive structures are either too weak or you're not allowed to have enough to matter so strategy is severely limited. I hope the developers fix this.
When the cap ship is ready, create a fleet out of it, build a squadron of fighters
Could you explain why you recommend fighters over bombers please?

Recently I wanted to remove some of my defensive plateforms to try a different strategy (to make up for the lack of any real defense in this game). Is it possible to delete them and get some profit out of it? Do you just have to attack them with your own ships to destroy them? This seems like a very crude method. I hope there is something better that I'm unable to find.

I completely disagree MegaVolt. If this were true, we would have not been able to win World War 2. It is absurd to not have better defenses in the game. Better defenses would require better strategy and planning, not make it impossible to win. I think this is a great game, but lack of any ability to build real defenses is the single biggest weakness of the game.
