When moving the mouse to the edge of the map, it should scroll the map. With the majority of hotkeys bound to (or near) W,A,S, and D, having the only means to move the map being to zoom in & out with the mouse or to use the distant arrow keys feels... wrong. It's like pushing the pull door.

Did the first Beta get pushed back? I saw a post by Brad saying that "In four weeks we'll be doing the compatibility beta" which he posted on the 9th of August. He's said in the past that this would be the "first and least fun" beta. (quotes paraphrased). So, are we looking at September? Should I calm my salivating with some fried chicken? Or keep the drool flowing in hopes of a compatibility test in the days to come?

In a game like this, a "Random" map would not be balanced unless it was symmetrical. Even then, balance might be an issue.

Yep, building the Nav Center made a huge difference. I was able to supply and defend a much larger chunk of space, and therefore sustain a higher research rate and a stronger economy.

I've got Impulse now. It's got a much higher swankiness factor to it over SDC. I like the builtin dock, that's extremely swanky. Now... if only I could find the letters D E M I G O arranged in a particular order, the D repeated, and such a program available for download! *giggles*

I've found playing Galciv2: ToA really really hard with the Arcaen race. I've been able to win with most of the other races, or at least play a competetive game. With the Arcaens, I lag behind in research, expansion, economics, and as a result, military. I've tried giving them a speed +1 bonus, and taken economics +30%, but this doesn't completely solve their issues (although, I at least had a marginally better game, before getting crushed by the Thalans). I find this

Hey guys; When the beta opens up, will we be required to use Impulse to download it? Or will it be available on Stardock Central? Is the Impulse go-live being tied to the start of the Demigod Beta? How's it looking for a summer start of the demigod beta? *hugs* & *kisses*

There are some issues with TA; 1 ==== The manual needs to define, clearly, what the bonuses are for each race, and tech trees are for each race. Getting the first few games in has been painful for me. Why? Because I'm not sure which race best fits my playstyle. It's a great problem to have, mind you, that this game has become so deep that you can essentially "role-play" your empire, BUT... how do I know what "character class" to pick? There isn'

Ya, with the DRM they're putting in SPORE, I'll be very happy not buying it. I got burned by Mass Effect already (pre-paid pre-order the day before their "Revelation"). So... Bioware / EA gets no more money from me... those ass hats.

Think "Warcraft III". Remember that this game was inspired by DotA map from WCIII and some concepts will make more sense.

I'm getting excited about Demigod. When I first saw it Previewed in PC Gamer, I was like, "Looks cool, meh, maybe I'll get it, or just play it on my friends Computer, like Titan's Quest" Now that Stardock's involved, it can't suck... I'll be pre-ordering soon. Beta-tastic action!
