Q: How many psychoanalysts does it take to change a lightbulb? A: Only one, but the bulb really has to WANT to change. /me looks at his artwork, then sends his camel to buy 14 cans of spam from the carpet man.

I can answer Question 2: Litestep is much lighter on resources than Explorer. Minimalist themes can be VERY quick and light.
Hippy, this site isn't dead: http://www.boxxi.co.uk it just isn't finished yet!
pole=poll coarse=course Litestep can not be used as an enhancement, only as a full shell replacement. I have tried all the above, and can honestly say that Litestep and DesktopX are the only ones I can get along with. All the others have something that I don't like, somewhere. I have just started using DesktopX after a long period of constant Litestepping, and so far I really like it. My two cents............
Polish up your Windows, get a better view. WinCustomize.....the ultimate window polisher!
And God said "Let there be skins", and there was skins. AT WINCUSTOMIZE.COM
"I bought Windows and all I got was this crappy grey interface...... Better go to WinCustomize!"
I am a hun....... Well hun heh!
Hmmmm, I don't understand, why would you want Microsoft's crappy clouds picture when there are so many wonderful wallpapers here? Check out some of Nuvem's images, and I'm certain you won't want clouds!
Heh! I sound like I work for Stardock! Hmmmm...now THERE'S a thought, any jobs going, Brad? ha! /me goes to dig out CV to send to Brad...........
Welcome, oh lycanthropic one. I am assuming that you went to stardock.com and downloaded the Window Blinds PROGRAM, as the skins do not work without the program. O.K., lets assume you have it. If you ran the .exe file after you downloaded it, then Window Blinds should be ready to go, just click on the icon or go to the folder where Window Blinds is stored, and double click on the window blinds .exe. So, now the program is running, if you want to change the skin, just double click the Window Blin
/me sends healing vibes through the ether~~~~~~~~~ That oughta do it! Hope you are o.k. Johanne.
Hippeeeeeeeeeee! I thought you were brown bread! So can I look forward to some real cool "Hippy" skins like before? For the non-English: Brown Bread =Dead.(cockney rhyming slang) /me hurls a welcoming pie at Hippy ----------==============[}
/me waits patiently for Litestep.net.........
Good on yer Paul, and iMike too. Can I be apprentice spellchecker for when you get too busy? I can spell lots of big werds. heh. /me spellchecks his own post, sees no mistakes and hits submit.
You think this person is in England Jafo? Just get me an address and this person won't have a computer within 1 day! I know some REALLY naughty people who would take pleasure in removing EVERYTHING from this persons abode, and I mean EVERYTHING. My job brings me in contact with some of the biggest low-lifes around, but sometimes they can be useful........... I too am dismayed at all this, it's just the total lack of respect and good manners that annoys me the most. I blame thei
That Bryce is a scary old app, don't you think Janice? Well, it scares the crap out of me. I'm trying to learn it at the moment, as well as learning to theme desktop X, AND make wallpapers to upload too. Welcome to my 26 hour day! /me goes to get more caffeine.........
Thanks pjpowell, I got it. Just have to figure it all out now.
Yeah, I saw the castle wall (hehe), it's excellent, but I need to know how you create one. Does anyone know?
Can anyone tell me how to make an animated wallpaper for desktop X? or point me to a page that has the info. Or even just give me a general idea! I just converted my "BoXXiStep" Litestep theme to DX, and want to make it animated too.
Mine keeps crashing too, "error in kernel32.dll" type thing, and the graphics get all garbled a lot of the time too. Also, Photoshop keeps crashing since I started using DX (yesterday), and you can imagine how I feel about THAT!
I would still like to see a personal stats page on the front page, just text, no images. That was one of the best features of Skinz.org, and one which I thought may have been carried over to this site. Does anyone agree with me?
Desktop X does have a "run at start-up" option. But it is most definitely a shell ENHANCER, and not a REPLACEMENT.
You are very welcome Nomi. You are obviously infected with the "desktop changing" virus like the rest of us! Have fun.
