I managed to get the update. Here are the steps I took: 1. Update elemental as you normally would. You "should" receive a "downloaded file was smaller than intended" error. 2. Completely close impulse (use task manager to ensure its closed). 3. Reopen impulse. You should now see and updates pane stating elemental's update was paused. Impulse will prompt you to resume the update, click yes. 4. Run the ga

It looked like I was able to complete download after restarting Impulse a couple of times. However it still says that I have 1.09n[b].108 and that a minor update (.109) is available. Now I get message that file size is smaller than expected again.

That just means that the END-TURN button works faster. So the AI will still stink. I will still win every game I play on ridiculous. I don't want to win every game I play on ridiculous. Frogboy, please tell me I'm wrong here.
I think Frogboy a

(all the non-fanboys have left the building). If all the "Non-Fanboys" have left the building, does that make you a Bi-Fanboy? (Just a joke, not a personal attack)[e digicons][/e] I think all us Fanboys agree that 1.1 doesn't fix all that ills EWOM, but it sure looks like a good star

This list looks to have the game turning the corner from Mediocre St. to the Great Gaming Highway. (Yes I know there's still a lot o work to do, but the team deserves a pat on the back now & then). Can't wait to be your Beta slave again (unlike some other people who shall remain nameless).
It's worth saying that the great game in Elemental isn't Fall from Heaven (for those hoping or worried that I'm going to try to make Elemental into FfH). That doesn't mean there aren't ideas in FfH that are valuable here, such as faction differentiation, but this is a very different game. This is about exploring a shattered world, engaging in great tactical combat and building a fantasy empire. Master of Magic is the inspiration here, not FfH.
Been playing FFH while wai

FishSlayer - You do realize that with version 1.1 they are removing the link between Food & Caravans. This strategy will be DOA. Not picking on you personally, I think we'll all have plenty of rethinking to do given all the changes being made. Back to square one everybody!

Now there's 2 guys who know how to talk without saying anything. Sounds like you missed a substantial portion of the point. Is the point that there is no point? Because if so, I can relate. Apparently, there is also no spoon, and a sh
Quoting Gazz_, reply 3 Quoting Istari, reply 1 Nice interview, except that they talked a lot without actually saying anything. That's Kael deftly avoiding to insert his foot into his mouth. It's way too early to expect any specific promises or even hints at features to come. He'll still be analysing and planning. No! If I expect the Kael to know everythin

I for one find the current AI particularly inept at city placement, or should I say "spam happy". I don't hesitate to raze a city with -11 food, 1 gold, 1 tech research, and 1 arcane research. My rule of thumb is, if I wouldn't build a city there & it doesn't have any other redeming qualities, burn baby burn.

Yigor - I don't believe it was your post that was the problem. Unfortunately it attracted at least one reponse that Brad found offensive (rightly so). I guess they just threw the baby out with the bathwater. Also please remember that freedom of speech is a wonderful concept, but when you're using someone else's dime, they get to have the final say as to what people see.

You might have to wait awile but Brad did promise to reissue the Gold DVD later this fall. See item #4 in his Aug 29th post. https://forums.elementalgame.com/394104

I had a similar list with Elemental, but things are turning out QUITE differently Many lessons to be learned, but for now, we work to (ho
