How can you tell ? Is there any visual confirmation with that like the little green fleet icon ? I double-checked without any mods and repaired the client just to be on the safe side, nothing.

There is no visual that the drones are actually there. I also switched player and attacked one of my own colonies (with the upgrade) to check and there were no drones to defend. Can anyone confirm this ?
