don't be hard on yourself. you've been doing awesome, and I know you will continue to do well this summer, it'll just take some time to get adjusted. it always does.

I stayed where I was, away from family it's not that I would be that close to family, but I would be within a day's drive of them again. My dad wanted me to move back in with them when Nbs left, but there was no way that was happening. Love my folks, but I've been out on my own for too long to go back

My head is spinning. It kind of hurts, but not quite. It's been a long week with very little sleep followed by way too much. And I'm so torn and excited that I'm stressed. Last week I spent most of my time working on updating my resume so I could submit my application for a job that I really wanted on post that closed on Friday. That meant alot of time on

This is one of those guilty pleasures.... I think I heard it first when Nbs was at PLDC. I heard a lot of cadences that month. The funniest though was when he had to come up with his own, and he had me give him the words to Fat Bottomed Girls over the phone so he could use it as a cadence to teach every one the next day.

I love flowers. They don't always last long with me, but I love them. Both of these traits I got from my mother. She grew up on a farm and had a love of almost all living things, but especially flowers. As a result, we always had potted plants and vases of fresh flowers throughout the house. My mom didn't really have a green thumb, so we went through alot of plan

have you ever listened to any of the harder bands that are christian? not pop, but hard rock, alternative, metal, etc? not necessarily talking about Jesus either, but some decent music. My first experience with Christian rock was back in the 80's with Stryper--To Hell With The Devil! big hair, black and yellow spandex, and loud rock

So, there was this little thing that happened earlier this week. A minor incident, really...... I heard a knock at my door while I was online, and I answered it. I normally have a pretty bad habit of ignoring the door, but my neighbor had borrowed some cooking utensils from me last week and I thought it might be her returning it, so I flew down the stairs

Well, I am well over what I should be BMI wise, but I have been working diligently for 8 weeks now with the program the doctor tasked me with, including walking at least 6600 steps per day, but usually averaging 8000-10000. I also started going to a weight training class at the gym about a month ago. A few days ago I got on the blasted scale we have that shows body fat as well as weight, and was disappointed that I hadn't lost any weight in a few day

It is emotional torture, and I would bawl so much people would ask if I was ok. I guess we all react differently to those things. It actually hit me this way much later that night, when I went online. One of the soldiers that spoke talked about his (the fallen soldier's) blog page, and how he and his g

What a whirlwind last week was! It seems like such a blur, mostly because I got so little sleep. I was freaked out pretty badly by a phone call I got early in the week and was trying hard not to worry about Nbs, but that's pretty much impossible. I finally heard again, though, and was relieved. He's doing well and staying safe. I spent an entire afternoon

After several weeks of practically being a hermit, suddenly I had the opportunity to go out Friday night. Actually, I was offered two choices, both of which I really wanted to participate in. One was a ladies night at the church I've been attending. SPC Nbs and I started going there just before he left, but there haven't been many chances to really get to know some

oh my God! this cracked me up! I was just out last night with a bunch of other wives from my hubby's unit and we were trying to explain to one of them that, yes, it is normal to feel like that after they've been gone awhile. so this article was just totally spot on! loved it! And congrats on 20 years!

wahine, I can definately understand the anger. I think that even amongst military spouses noone knows EXACTLY what someone else is going through and should never try to say that they do. as far as getting a dog is concerned, NBS and I have talked about it before, but I don't feel that I would be able to spend the time necessary with a dog if kept outdoors. The cats pretty much keep themselves entertained and they're not difficult to take car

Being alone so much has helped me get a little bit braver since I have to be able to function to care for the children that's actually one thing I'm jealous of with all the wives I know with kids. I had a lady tell me a couple weeks ago how "lucky" I was I don't have kids and I nearly lost it. Especia
