Planetary bonus

I have a couple questions pertaining to the various planetary bonuses that you could end up with. I'm not sure what else they are called.

Anyways, do these things even work yet? Like if you get a 50% starship bonus, what improvement to a starship is that? Is it in hit points or is it nothing more than a sped up production line?

The other big question is what is the downside to some of these bonuses. Take for example the extermination of all them bugs, what is the negative impact? I can understand a drop in morale if you force your people to work in a hazardous environment or force them to be assimilated with them pods..but what of the other possibilities? Wiping out all them underwater creatures, destroying old ruins, working with the space scum, or interrogating the crew of a ship for intel...any ideas??

Yes and no. I'm sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but up to this point there are events in game and they do work. However, its only the ones that would occur random when colonizing a planet and the bonus or penalty applies to that particular planet.

Regarding Starship bonus, you would benefit from increased military production. PQ bonus does work but you should do the math to see if its worth doing it. 40% on a pq 16 will actually get you a couple tiles, whereas on pq 7 planet you'd be lucky to get one...

Downside.. There are consequences for your actions/choices. It affects you/your race's alignment and there are some bonus penalty to being good/neut or evil.

yes there are consequences to the evil choices, ha ha ha. i made a run of evil choices (that were just too good to pass up in a close game) and was pleasantly surprised at the repercussions. i don't want to spoil anything so i leave it at that.
