Hi Pat.
Sadly it's broken on my system.

On my system I get "Fatal Error:13 Type missmatch 0" when I launch DGM after the update.

After that it exits.

Gonna do a debug and send it to ya.

The last lines are:

"
GetImageFiles
Server: http://scripting.stardock.com/
GetModuleImageFiles
Server: http://scripting.stardock.com/
13 Type mismatch 0
Fatal Error StartMain: Ending Process
"

Do ya need more? I dont see any other lines complaining.

Hmm my misstake, I get it both while the loader is running as well as the dgm.

From when the loader gets the error:
"
Debug Message: GetLocalDrenginXML
Error: 13 Type mismatch 0
\Base\skin\drengin1_close.bmp
"

And while Im complaining ;p I could really use an option to set where DGM puts the (temporary-)files while downloading. Please? Pretty please with sugar on top?

Just sent you a test build.

I'll see what I can do about your request. No promises though.

Patiently waiting. (this would go much faster if we were on IRC, MSN or ICQ) :)

In the early stages of DGM it had textual information about the progress of an install. When it suddenly dissappeared a promise was given that the textual data would be restored at some later time. With the long time a download takes on a dialup I could really use the textual info. What I would like to see is: total amount to download, amount downloaded, time since download started, current download rate, and estimated time remaining for download.

Thanks,
Jack

Have to second that textual request. the progress bar is all well and good, but when you have 80 odd meg to download on a dial up, it would be handy to know how much time it will take you on your current connection

Congrats and well done on fixing the download resuming problem :) it's a great relief to be able to download with the confidence that it will pickup where it left off :)

Thanks for the effort put in, and keep up the great work!!

Ok, I also have the fatal error type mismatch... :(
What should I do?
Pat, do you have a test build also for me? ;)
Do you have a link where you put the latest "certified" and "beta" for our usage as we get broken?
Thanks, Gherardo

BTW, how to use the /t 30000 parameter?
Sorry for the dumb question.

Just to add to the complaining voices, I also get exactly the same problem described above. I even tried uninstalling DGM, reinstalling v0.66c (that's what available in the drengin.net site). After starting it it tried to update itself and, when it tried to run, I got the error again.

On a related note, was the problem where GalCiv (and the other games too) would always appear as if there was an update available to it even if there was not?

Sigh

I wasn't having the SDS0004 error - until the updated DGM manager designed to prevent this error installed itself. Now I get that error message. Ihave never seen it before. It now says it cant access file c_access.mp. I will try a reeboot and run again - sometime.

Having had no major (define major) problems with the DGM in the past since purchasing GalCiv I have now lost all download functionality and get the SDS0004 error message with build 66.83. This strikes me as ironic as I understand that this build was designed to solve this error with other users. I didn't have this problem.

I wondered if it was due to an incomplete or corrupt set of program files at my end - as I have had problems getting DGM to properly update all the graphics files for GalCiv in the past (see 'define major' above). This file download issue presented itself in a niggling way in that the graphics 'upgrade' button on DGM remained clickable after downloading the graphics files. I therefore decided to uninstall the graphics files today and reinstall - no joy, SDS0004. With nothing now to lose (after all I had no game graphics files) I decided to uninstall the program files and reinstall from scratch - no joy SDS0004.

I now have no GalCiv at all. Please help.

gherardo - Try this test build http://www.drengin.net/temp/drengin.zip
I think this will correct the problem.

And if you want to try the timeout parameter the easiest way is to run drengin.exe or loader.exe from a a command line:

"c:\program files\drengin.net\drengin.exe" /t 20000

John Kistler - right now I'm just working on bug fixes.

BGA-BR and Steevodeevo - Try deleting your temporary files. In your System Temp folder delete the Drengin folder. Your temp directory may be one of the following:

c:\temp\
c:\windows\temp\
C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR LOGON]\Local Settings\Temp\

Also, you may want to try the build I just posted above.

If anyone else is still having download problems and you are using the test build at http://www.drengin.net/temp/drengin.zip and you have cleared your temp files then please run drengin.exe with the /debug paramenter and send me the debug.err file in your drengin.net folder.

Clearing the temp dir didn't help. The testing version you posted seems to work ok though.

temp file cleasring no joy
new file - no joy still the SDS0004 error

debug says SDS0004 blah blah... cant find file xxx.y on server - interesting?
Ok, for me .84 version works. I mean I don't get the type mysmatch anymore.
Re the SDS0004, it's still there but at each manual retry it picks up from where it stopped much more quickly (do not try to redownload files).

Neither the /t 30000 did help...

I get this error when I click on GalCiv (left most side):

I will run with the /d and send the error file. I sent one earlier today, that was with the old drengin and without clearing out the temp folders yet...I didn't read the threads and get updated.
