No saves at all?

Can't find them anyway

I have noticed that I can't save a game, I have autosave turned off in case of the disappearing turn button (which still disappears, btw). So when the turn button goes away and I save a game, there's nothing to load when I restart GCII, so GCII crashes to desktop. Permissions seem to be ok on the GCII directory, but the game doesn't save. At least I can't find it in any of the drengin or stardock folders.

My system:
Asus A7V333 w/Athlon XP 1700+
1 Gig ram
AIW 9600 pro w/5.3 drivers

The savegame are supposed to be in "My documents" or one of its subdirectories.

OK, found it. It's in \documents and Settings\my username\My Documents\My Games\Galciv2. Didn't think to look there. When you folks do an overhaul you go all the way. I found the turn button does come back if you play with the view. I do have the latest patches through SD (well, they're a bit big to call them just patches). That part works OK so far. I've been able to play a game to the end now. BUT.... I can't reload the game from a save, get a CTD. Game starts ok, but when I choose to load the save (same rev) it starts to load the save and immeadiately CTD.

But now I want more game play.

Other comments so far:

1. I like the singing part in the opening, although it would be more fitting if it were a capella as in 2001.

2. In the research selection, the "required technology" box doesn't clear when selecting different technologies/paths.

3. Had one game that came up blank in the main view (or was locked at location 0,0). Had to exit/restart to see the screen. Only happened once out of 4 games.

But, so far, so good.

I had a different problem with my saves. I'm not sure, but it may be that I had to many save files. I had tried to save a file, and it said "File Saved" or "Save Successfull" or whatever it says. But when I went to load it up the next day it wasn't there!!!!!!!!
