Influence on mini map

Hi all, I am a new player with a basic question. The mini map shows the owner of each sector by color. Only that my own sectors are not colored at all (still black). What can I do to toggle the color?

PS: I am not color-blind and my influence is the highest in the galaxy in my game.

Under the minimap there are buttons. One of them toggles influence, one toggles population and influence, and one toggles production and influence. There are other buttons also. Try toggeling these and see if that does it for you. Your color is dark blue and often looks like black. You can also display the minimap full screen and sometimes that helps. F9 I think is the function key for that.

Dark blue is not that different from black on the minimap, so it can be hard to se.

Hit the F9 key for full-screen influence view. F9 to return to normal.
