Update problem, need help

from Stardock Forums
ok, I recently got a computer and decided to install Galciv on it and remove it from my family comp. Install went ok and I started the update process. When it attempts to install the update I get this problem.

Files\Stardock\SDCentral\temp\base\GFx\anomaly02.md_

Result: Failed (deleted File)

I've tried completly uninstalling and reinstalling both Galci and stardock and I keep getting the same thing. Any help would be appriciated.

Looks like you have a corrupted file in the Gfx folder.

Just sent it to you, also try to contact Carielf at Stardock, she is the guru on this matter and she is always around, she has couple of threads I have to zip the file to send it to you because was too long for your mailbox.

At the bottom of this page you will see a sign that read contact @, click on it and that will give you the e-mail for galciv or use this link [email protected]

Did uninstalling and re-installing SDC remove the temp folder? Because if SDC finds those temp files, it will try to install from those rather than re-downloading the files.

I actually went and deleted the temp folder for this reason. Didn't help. The same file seems to get corrupted at each download. For now I have given up and resigned myself to playing on the family comp.

Doh! Just thought of something.  Use SDC on your family computer to archive the files.  Then copy the files from your family computer to your computer, put them in SDC's backup folder, and restore the archives.

ok, thanks a lot. That seems to have worked. I just hope it will update normally from now on. You've been a big help CArielf, I'd send you a box of chocolates if I knew where to send them ;)

Hmmm, never really thought about joining an empire. As you can see I haven't really been submiting games for awhile.
