I recently had my computer completely rebooted (all applications and everything were deleted), and i just realized that Microsoft Word is gone (of course). I have Windows ME and i was wondering how to reinstall it, do i use the back up applications restoration disk???

If your computer came with Microsoft Word already installed on it, then you can use your applications restore disk to reinstall it. Everything that came with your computer originally should be on the restore disk(s).

Damn, i just tried the disks, but i dont see Word or any other of those applications, i just see norton antivirus, gateway.net, helpspot, etc. Under hardware i just see the mouse, keyboard etc. Am i missing someting???

Keep looking...I have an old gateway myself, and one of the disks says Microsoft Works, but there's a list on the right side of the disk that says Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1. Not sure how old your system is, or if you have the same version of Word (I've since upgraded), but it should be located on the same disk as MS Works.

I have one disk containing OS restoration one containinghardware drivers, partial backup of apps, and NT 4.0 Driver Locator utility and one disk containing back up of apps.

I just went throu the whole Microsoft works installation process and completed it successfully, but i went to use word and its asking for a 25 letter code which can be found on the back of the CD jewel case, but i dont have the case, wat can i do?????!!!!! >

What you are asking for at this point is not going to be given to you here. You should have a microsoft license for it somewhere. It may be on a separate card or piece of paper that came with your pc. If not, your only option is to contact the manufacturer or go purchase works again.

One what? If you downloaded and installed a freeware office suite, it should've put a folder with shortcuts in your startmenu.

I downloaded a copy of Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1, there is nothing in the start menu, and if i click word, it asks me for the CD-ROM 25 figure code.
