WinCustomize's 10 most memorable moments of the past year.

I reached a hundred thousand downloads...twice. I hit the 100,000 mark, then updated a couple skins. When I did that, the total dropped down to about 95,000. Then the total surpassed 100,000 again before the skins finished updating. So that was cool.

I got promoted! That was pretty cool...good to have that kind of recognization.

Argued with Jafo...and lived!

Was on a team with a guy that won a GUIO prize. EventHorizon, you're awesome! Mime rocks!

Made my first WindowBlind skin. I even thought it was good enough to put in the GuiO's. Made a second skin too, and neither has sucked too badly. Second skin got more downloads in 4 days that my first one has right now.

Finally did some work in DX...havin fun with that!

Chatted on IRC for the first time ever...now its a common occurance for me.

Got a steady girlfriend. (I know it wasnt on WinC, but its still awesome!)

Put some of my work on other sites, and started interacting with the rest of the skinning community. Still not doing tons, but I'm trying.

Got myself a new computer (8 months ago) and it has enhanced my experiences on winC and with all skinning!




Ok...thats what I remember right off the bat, not necessarily in that order though.

My personal most memorable moment of the past year has to be when I reached the 1 million DL mark (specially since I had only been here a little over 1 yr)

There was also that time when the servers crased and we all pitched together to help upload the missing files. That was pretty cool.

JD I haven't argue with Jafo (yet) But the year is not over.

Entering the GUIO with 3 skins. Imagine, just me, a boy from Texas, in an international competition. Kinda blows me away.

Deciding to learn Winamp 5 skinning and sticking with it ... in spite of the coding challenge. Sorta goes with the GUIO. Haven't written any code to speak of in 25 years!

Being asked to admin over at Skinartistry and at the Skinartistry Workshop. Thanks Bones!

Being promoted here at WC. I'm not big on titles, but it's still a cool thang.

Being involved in the skinning community the past year has been a pleasure beyond words. Thanks to everyone for their support, even the not so friendly people. Now and then even they open my eyes.


I have met some extremely decent people and I look forward to meeting more.
There is a pretty good chance that if you are reading this, you are one of those decent people.

@ toe When I was little I had the worst toes (I thought) ever! I went through 8 in-grown toenail operations! That foot is way worse though! As for most memorable moment, I'm not too far away It'll be hitting 200,000 downloads WITHOUT having ever been promoted!!
