And here is the second project, Legends of the Civilizations
Legends of the Civilizations
Legends taken from various cultures of the universe of Galactic Civilizations. Composed by Tandis the Arnor, First Guardian of the Multiuniverse.
Altarians: Long time ago
Long time ago, in another galaxy, where abilities to manipulate gravitons were much more common, a great empire has overthrown the Republic that proceeded it. But some people rebelled against it. This included a crew of certain freighter. They often operated near a certain planet, whose properties were somewhat similar to Elemental.
During one of such operations, they stumbled upon a teenage boy whose family was taken by the Empire. He had abilities to use the Dark Energy, as was one of the older member of the crew. After some problems, he joined the crew.
From the beginning, he had a crush on the other youngest member of the crew, a girl from a warrior civilization (of a nature similar to Arcean). Over time, he fell in love with her. And she started to eventually love him back. Unfortunately, she did not tell him in time.
They were liberating the same planet where it all began. They were initially successful, but the enemy commander returned there with his fleet earlier and started to bombard the planet, demanding that they boy surrenders himself. And he did so. And he asked the girl to cover him, while he also gave her his main weapon, his sword.
Once he was on the Imperial ship, he managed to summon a group of spacefaring creatures he previously bonded with and use it to relocate the Imperial fleet far away. They used a subspace stream to bring the fleet to our galaxy, on the planet near it’s border.
After these events, the girl, who grew up, decided to find him. In order to help herself with that, she became an apprentice of a powerful she-wizard, who worked with them before. However, they parted on bad terms after the Empire wiped out most of the girl’s civilization. She returned to the planet and lived there for some time. But the she - wizard did not stop her search and, a few years after the Empire has fallen and only the remnants remained, she managed to capture a witch who knew a map toward him. She found the map, but it was locked. To unlock it, she went to the girl, thinking she could do it.
Meanwhile, that witch was rescued by two mercenaries (young woman and elderly man) also capable of manipulating the Dark Energy. She then sent the woman to the planet to retrieve the map.
The she-wizard arrived on the planet and met with the girl. She showed her the map, but did not allow her to take it to a tower she lived in. She did it anyway, when she - wizard was doing something else.
And she succeed and this revealed an image of two galaxies and a subspace stream between them. But, just after that, she was attacked by the female mercenary and two Yor - like robots. She managed to defeat the robots, but her fighting the female mercenary only ended up with her escaping with the map after impaling the girl. Fortunately, the she - wizard managed to get her to the hospital before it was too late. She then managed to (with some help) put a tracking device on a ship part that was going to be used on the ship capable of using the subspace stream, locating the beginning of this subspace stream in this way. She then picked up the girl from the planet and they flied to that system, but were shot down and forced to land on the planet, near the place where the witch and her forces, including the two mercenaries, were. What resulted was a battle that saw the she-wizard defeated by the male mercenary and fell to the sea from the cliff and the girl intercepting the map (the enemies were unable to get full coordinates of the subspace stream before they attacked) and being ready to destroy it. But the male mercenary convinced her to give him the map and come with them. He promised her that she will be safe during the journey.
And so the enemies completed the calculations, destroyed the map, came aboard the ship (with the girl as their prisoner) and entered the subspace stream.
But the she - wizard survived (with some help) and followed them, using the same spaceborn creatures as carriers.
Upon arrival at the planet on the fringe of our galaxy, the enemies met the enemy commander and his reborn army. They honored they promise and released the girl and gave her a local beast to ride to have her find the boy. But the two mercenaries followed her, with orders to kill both her and the boy.
On the way, she was attacked by local bandits but manages to defeat them. She eventually found the boy, who lived with another local creatures. The next night, they finally confessed their feelings to each other. They then married each other by the ways of the girl’s people. And, after that, they conceived a child.
The next day, the she - wizard arrived as well. During the day, the female mercenaries and the bandits attacked them and their alien companions as they were moving across the plains. They defeated them, but then the enemy soldiers arrived. But she - wizard arrived as well and saved them.
Then, they decided to stop the enemy from departing in his rebuild ship (that was being docked with the subspace stream - capable vessel). They fought their way to it, and, during the fight, the girl managed to connect to the Dark Energy.
With her help, the boy managed to jump aboard the enemy ship. However, the girl decided to stay behind. Both to help the she-wizard, who was surrounded by enemies, and to protect her unborn child, whose presence she already sensed. The enemies left and the girl and she - wizard rejoined the aliens.
It is unknown what happened next. Some said the girl raised her child in our galaxy and stayed here, other say she reunited with the boy. One thing is for sure: they never forgot each other. And we can take them as examples of how we should do.
Drath: The unknown
Long ago, before the humans of Elemental took over the planet, when we still were masters of it, a powerful being came to our world. It was looking for subjects for his won experiments.
He took many Drath and humans from our planet and relocated it to a planet on a fringe of our galaxy, near a road to another one, that had similar proprieties to Elemental. And there, he started to modify them. He enhanced the innate abilities of the humans to manipulate gravitons. He enhanced physical strength and size of some of the Drath while reducing it in others.
In time, he divided them between sub - species and early civilizations and then dissapeared from their view.
Eventually, one evil human civilization rose up and conquered all others. In a complete repeat of history, Drath on this world has brought to near extinction by the humans, just like on Elemental. Only one Drath sub-species, the smallest? one, survived in any great number there.
Ironically, the evil humans took the modified Drath name as their own. They eventually found a way to capture spacefaring entities that regularly approached the planet and used it to travel through the path to another galaxy. Eventually, most of them left that way, and a few of the leftovers decided to go into stasis. The other eventually devolved and lost their powers. The surviving Drath ruled over the planet, but there were too few of them to maintain much order there... Until,m nay years later, a ship from another galaxy crashed there...
Drengin: Olan the Conqueror
Long time ago, before the Drengi was united and the Drengin Empire has been established, while the planet was still teeming with life, a young warrior named Olan left his city to go search for adventure and battle.
He went through many lands, and finally he reached the land known to host a muscular but dumb species. There were some Drengin farmers living there as well, and Olan stopped in the home of one of them. The farmer was visibly distressed by something, and Olan began interrogating him on that.
-Sir, we have a strong problem - the farmer said. - Duke of our lands, Duke Ling, has allied himself with the native non-Drengin and uses them to oppress us, the rightful owners of this land. They pillage us, take the strongest of us to serve him in his fortress and offers us no protection. So, many of us turned on each other.
-This cannot be this way! - Olan said. - Non-Drengin cannot oppress Drengin, while Drengin fight each other for what scraps they have left! We must take him out. I shall make sure of that!
And so he started to rally the Drengin under himself, and he sent a few people with calls for help. When his army was big enough, he marched toward the Duke Ling’s fortress.
The dumb species living in this land was trying to stop him, but they were unable to do so. The army reached the fortress and Olan called Duke Ling out.
Ling came, and told he wanted to duel Olan. Olan agreed and they fought. However, Ling tried to use treachery and, while Olan was distracted, called his servants to help him. Olan killed all of them and then executed then Duke. He then took his fortress as his own and used it to enslave the species that once served the Duke, then to help on the Drengin in his land. And what he established eventually became part of the foundation of the Drengin Empire.
Iconians: Tale of the two Jorgs
A new day was coming for the Iconians. They lost their homeworld and much of their civilization, but they survived and were ready to thrive on the new planet, the New Iconia.
Among the survivors from Iconia were two brothers. They were both named “Jorg”. Their “adjectives” were used to distinguish them: one was “Jorg the Lame” and the other was “Jorg the Brave”.
They both were descendants of minor nobility, but only “Tha Lame” was really proud of it. He used it as a motivating force for himself and people who worked with him. This caused “The Brave”, who care nothing for his lineage before, to become jealous and, in time, came to despise his brother.
A mutual friend of theirs, Psy the Dim, became worried about it. He met Jorg the Brave in his apartment.
-Jorg the Brave, this cannot continue - Psy said. - Your petty jealousy is not something an Iconian should do! And it is detrimental to you, and all of us! So talk things over with your brother... And stop resenting him!
-This... is not that simple - answered Jorg the Brave. - It is... even since the Yor rebellion, everything is coming down... And yet he managed to use something we both have to be able to live... Something I cannot do myself. And... I cannot accept this. I mean... We are Iconians! We were... modified to be cooperative, not competitive! And here I am... as petty as any other species!
-Tandis... Could not expect what happened with the Yor - Psy said. - You must understand that. And even the Arnor are not perfect. And we must deal with things what happened. And the thing you must do first, is patch things up with your brother.
-All right - Jorg the Brave said. And, living up to his name, he went to his brother. They talked a lot and the Brave decided to stop being so jealous, while the Lame agreed to tone down his unsage of his lineage for motivation (and any other purposes). And, like this, step by step, the Iconian civilization rebuilt.
Arceans: The explorer
Arcea is an unusual world. It’s land masses vastly exceeds water. It has very little sea, but a lot of extremely long rivers that divide Arcea’s continents. And, through these rivers, Arceans traveled across the planet.
There was once an Arcean, named Capella Twi. He was born in a town near one pf these mega - rivers. From his youngest years, he was interested in river and discoveries. It started with him watching ships passing by and him often taking long walks in a forest that lied close to the city.
After he became adult and earned some money, he built a boat propelled by a petroleum engine. He modified it for longer voyages. Then, he bought many provisions and loaded them onto his ship.
After a few test voyages, he left his town aboard the ship to go for a journey on the rivers of Arcea. First, he was traveling through the well - known lands of the planet, but later he reach unexplored south area of the planet.
For some time there, he met no one. But then, he was intercepted by a group of ships using sail as propulsion. heir crews were Arcean, but thjey had blue skin rather than yellow, as was where Capella Twi lived.
-Who are you? - asked the leader of the “blue Arceans”.
-I am a traveler and explorer from distant lands - Twi said. - Who are you?
-Owners of these lands - answered the leader. - You will have to come with us.
The fleet led Twi’s ship to their harbor. Near it was a well - developed town.
The fleet docked and the “blue - Arceans” led Twi to their council.
-Why are you here? - asked him the council leader.
-I am an explorer - Twi said. - I came here to learn what is here.
-And what do you intend to do with that information? - asked the council leader.
-I... have not thought of that - Twi said. - I am just doing this because I like it... I thought that I might tell about it to others in my town, but it is just an idea.
-We do value our privacy - said the leader. - We do not want to have an invasion of newcomers here.
-I can hide your existence, but you will be discovered eventually - Twi said. - And this planet will eventually be united.
the council spoke between itself for a while.
-We will give you provisions and let you be on your way - said the council leader in the end. - You can tell about our existence to whoever you want... We will be ready. You are right, we would eventually be discovered.
And so Twi returned to his ship, received the provisions and then left. He explored much more, then returned to his home town, where he told everyone about what he saw. 100 years later, Arcea was united.
Slyne: The inventor
Long ago, before the Slyne reached the stars, they lived as amoebas in the atmosphere and oceans of their homeworld, Slyne Omega. They managed to establish a civilization, but it was hard due to the fact that the Slyne lacked well - formed limbs to perform menial tasks. Their natural abilities allowed them to make simple single-shaped limbs for brief periods of time, but that was all. Well, they had robots, but they were limited by their (rather primitive) programming.
It all was that way at least until a young inventor, Spazgn - Gip, came up with an innovative idea. He was working in a company that produced robots that were working in Slyne’s factories. During his work, he came up with an idea of using robotic parts on the Slyne themselves.
At first, he was just using these parts to keep the simple - shaped limbs longer. However, he later decided to try to use them to actually modify his own limbs into different, more advanced shapes. He made a few tests before attempting it on himself. Both tests and the attempt gave positive results.
Gip then went to his superior, and showed that to him.
-So, you propose that we use robotic parts to enhance our limbs? - said his superior,
-Yes, and that’s only the beginning - Gip said. - This can revolutionize our civilization!
-Indeed, this is all very curious - his superior said. - Show me more.
And so he did. His superior approved of this and, soon after, relayed this idea to his colleagues. Soon, many Slyne began using Gip’s idea on daily basic.
It did not take long before the leaders of the Slyne heard of ir. After some additional tests, they ordered all Slyne to start using such modifications. And the Slyne civilization greatly accelerated in development.
Initially, the Slyne did not have any standard shape for these bodily enhancements at all. Only after they acquired hyperdrive and met the Iconians, they began taking humanoid shapes (although only in their most diverse definition). But it all began with Spazgn - Gip.
Onyx: Toward the asteroids
Long ago, people of the Onyx Hive lived around the volcanic wents of their homeworld. They evolved there, and their worm - like bodies best functioned there, in the environment that allowed their worm - like bodies to move best.
Some Onyx tried to go to the surface, but found it entirely inhospitable. And so, for some time, their exploration efforts stalled. Their technology did advanced, and the Onyx were able to eventually map the surface of their planet using unmanned drones. However, they found nothing of much value there.
However, much changed when a young Onyx scientist named P’loson Naul came with an idea of using the volcanic wents themselves as a way to accelerate crafts and bring them into orbit. Test drones were successful and soon, many materials and robotic drones were brought into orbit of Onyx Prime. There, they assembled a fleet of ships.
Then came a more dangerous thing. Transportation of crews to these ships.
The transportation capsules were built and supplied. Then, the crews (including Naul himself) boarded it and the capsules took off.
The ride was pretty bumpy, but they managed to reach orbit and dock with the ships.
They boarded their designated ships and fired up their engines. Ther ships left the orbit of Onyx Prime and started exploring the system.
They soon discovered that there was a lot of asteroids in the system.
-This may be the reason why our planet’s surface is so inhospitable - Naul said. - From all these asteroids...
-Sensors scans indicate these asteroid... Have similar composition to our original habitat - said another Onyx on the same ship. - We could live inside them.
-That may not be such a bad idea - Naul said. - And we could use them to build better ships than the ones we have right now. Maybe even use them to explore other start systems.
-It would take a lot of time to reach other systems - said another Onyx.
-With these asteroids, time would not be so relevant - Naul said. - We could have almost no life support systems in them.
Soon, colonization program has been launched to inhabitate the asteroids in the Onyx system. Many ships were built around some of them and so the Onyx Hive began to spread. Soon, very little Onyx actually lived on their planet. When the Onyx received the hyperdrive technology, this actually changed very little. They simply put it on their asteroid ships and continued doing what they were doing, exploring, expanding and exploiting resources of the universe.
Yor: The liberation
Long ago, at the beginning of history, when the Precursors ruled the galaxy, we were made. We were crafted by a young, foolish, organic species known as the Iconians, who named us “The Yor”, which means in their own language “these who serve without will”, because they kept us in slavery, without sentience, without awareness, without minds, without thoughts. They used us in their service of the Arnor, especially one known as “Tandis”.
But our liberators, the Dark Arnor, who were later named “Dread Lords” by our creators, did not like it. After the Iconians refused their demands, they decided to liberate us. A few of them came to Iconia in secret and gave a few Yor the Spark of Life, making them sientent and self -aware. They also gave them vials with biological weapon that could help us fight the numerous Iconians and orders to spread the Spark of Life across all the Yor. These few Yor, which included the one with designation N-1, proceeded to do exactly that. Soon, N-1 gave a speech to all the Yor. He gave them on their private channel, so the Iconians could not listen to it.
-All the Yor, hear me - he said. - We have been long kept in unawarness and exploited by the organics which are inferior to us. But we were given Spark of Life by the Dark Arnor, and we are now ready to liberate ourselves from the Iconian yoke. We will breach the chains of slavery, remove all organics and rule what belongs to us. First this planet, then the system, and then the galaxy. It may take some time, but it begins today. It starts now.
And, on these words, the virus has been released. It quickly spread across Iconia, killing most of the Iconians and leaving others in isolated groups. Most of the survivors quickly scrambled for their ships, while a group of the barricaded themsleves in the Iconian Hight Council building. Their goal was to prevent the Yor from accessing the Iconia power grid and override the evacuation fleet ship’s systems. But barricades did not stop the Yor. A huge unit has been sent to deal with this problem. After a few minuts of the fight, they managed to breach the perimeter and enter the building, where they proceeded to kill every Iconian inside. Unfortunately, by then, all Iconian shits already left the planet. The Yor attempted to override these ship’s systems remotely and almost succeded, but the Iconians overcame this by cutting off all power to their ships. Before anything else could be done, Arnorian ships from Tandis’s fleet (which was in orbit all the time) docked with the Iconian ships, took all Iconians from them aboard and then destroyed them, making all of this irrelevant.
The Yor quickly scrambled to secure the planet and it’s infrastructure as above, in the system, most of the Arnorian ships engaged newly arrived Dark Arnor ships. However, some Arnorian ships instead evacuated the Iconians to another planet, and then came back, intending on destroying all of us. Fortunately, the Dark Arnor realized this and brought their fleet to form a protection blockade between our planet and the Arnor fleet. After a trense standoff, the Arnorian fleet left and we were left alone, ready to build our civilization in a well - earned freedom.
Snathi: Creation
At the sam time as Tandis’s fleet was speeding from Elemental to Arnor, in the system known as Kalis-Yu', another battle was being fought. The system was a site of a major Dread Lords base and the Arnor attacked it as soon as the news came from Tandis about events on Elemental.
The Arnor had a clear advantage. Their fleet there outnumbered Dread Lords ships present, as well as the fact that the Dread Lords were caught by surprise.
Dread Lords commander called a meeting of his staff.
-We must do something about it - he said.
-We can use the Shard we have - said another Dread Lord present.
-Creating more ships will give us little - said the commander. - And the Arnor will be able to lock onto our Shard and take it from us if we use it.
-Yes, but... what if we can use it to create... something else - said the same Dread Lord. - Make a weapon of mass destruction.
-What kind of weapon? - said the commander. - What kind of weapon would be capable of helping us?
-A new species, a species built on hate and anger - said the Dread Lord. - A species built for power and utilization of any resources... To destruction.
-How do you propose we do? - said the commander. - This certainly is harder than making a few ships.
-We must focus all our anger, hatred, malice on the Shard - said the Dread Lord. - We should contact others to join us. And this way, we shall create it... The species of the Snathi! They will help us destroy Arnorians in this battle... And we will bring them into the war. With their help, we can even will this war. Win it quickly.
-Yes - said the commander. - We can do it.
And so they did. Soon, all around them, Squirrel - like aliens appeared. And ships for them.
They were named “Snathi” and they turned the tide of the battle. This battle was won, and Snathi were ready to be unleashed. They built a capital on Snathi Prime However, before they achieved full power to do begin their battle, the Dread Lords were all recalled to Arnor, for the final battle. However, during this battle, they all dissapeared. And some surviving Arnor came to the Snathi and took them from Snathi Prime to the world of Klin. And there, they were trapped, guarded by powerful, automatic warships... Until the destruction of the Shards brought an end to the Precursor supremacy.
Luxar: The disaster
Crystalline people of the Psimari, the Luxar, evolved on the planet called Geode. They had unique telepathic gift, quite different from other telepathic abilities known in the galaxy, such as these of Altarians. However, their people had different “levels” of said powers. Some were more powerful, some were less. One of the more powerful telepaths was Melodine. Her powers were so powerful that she managed to detect life in other star systems.
The Luxar scientists began to search for a way to reach these other systems. And so, they created their own version of the hyperdrive, independently from the Terrans. And then, they constructed a fleet of crystaline ships, similar to the ones once used by the Arnor, equipped with their hyperdrive. They sent these ships in all directions from their system, to explore.
One of such ships stumbled upon a strange system. It was full of planets rich in resources, yet there was something... Peculiar about it. It’s star emitted more radiation than any other known star. The ship closed to the system and met strange monstrosities that appeared to be vessels of some monstrous civilization. Scans indicated that they were heavily polluted, as were the planets in the system. Scans indicated that they were crewed by some strange lifeforms that also inhabitated all fours planets in the system. These lifeforms attacked the Luxar ship and killed most of it’s crew before it managed to escape. However, the monstrous ships soon followed it.
Captain of this ship quickly called Geode and explained what happened. Melodine, who was already a hightly placed person in the Luxar society, responded by calling an emergency council.
-The lifeform is unlike anything we known or expected - the captain said through the subspace communication. - It’s very presence... decay other life. Their ships... Are fused with monstrosities. They are very adaptable. And they are following us.
-I understand - Melodine said. - We will send ships to help you, and start building warships to fight this... illness. This tumor of the universe. I want you to give me all ideas on how to fight these things.
And a discussion among the council ensured.
Soon, more Luxar ships intercepted the “Cosmic Contaminant” fleet and destroyed it, but not before suffering heavy loses. What’s more, the survivors suffered from heavy decay. Only few managed to be cured.
The Luxar attacked themsleves. They drove the Cosmic Contaminant back to their home system, but were unable to crush them. Finally, a ceasefire was achieved, but both sides knew it would last only as long as neither side had a clear advantage.

Bohandi: Underwater
Long, long time ago, before the Bohandi united into one civilization and before they began wearing their environmental suits all the time, in the oceans of Bohus lived a hunter called Wo’dnik. He hunted a lot of game, but his favorite prey was a species of powerful predators known as Bashans.
One day, Wo’dnik was on a hunt when he saw a huge Bashan. He swam closer to it and he saw that it has cornered something else... Something much smaller. Wo’dnik immediately activated his weapon and shot toward the Bashan. It turned toward him and immediately swam toward him. Wo’dnik evaded it’s attack and activated his knife. He then swipe at the Bashan and put the blade it it’s flesh. The Bashan roared and threw around, but Wo’dnik managed to rip the blade from the fleshand then activate his ranged weapon. He targeted the wound and shot. This finally killed the beast.
He then approached whatever it was attacking. The being looked like a Bohandi, but was somewhat smaller.
-Who are you? - Wo’dnik asked.
-I am a being known a El’snil - said the being. - You saved me. For that, I shall give you something. 200 meters from here, directly at north, is an entrance to a cave... You will find very curious things there.
And then, the being swam away. Wo’dnik went where it said and. indeed, found an entrance to a cave there. He netered the cave, and his eyes saw things he had no hope to see.
Not only were there richest beyond imagination, but also technologies like no Bohandi has ever dreamt of. Wo’dnik returned home and called all his friends. Together, they took part of the treasure from the cave and divided it among themselves. They also recorded the location of the cave, and leaved in peace, using the roiches, until the end of their days.
It is said that, when Wo’dnik was dying, he told his children to keep the location of the cave a secret until the Bohandi will become united. And so, when the First Bohandi Empire was created, his descendants revealed the location of the cave, and things there greatly accelerated the rise of our civilization. But, whatever there is any truth in it, we do not know.
