What does it mean when Techs have the gray/white background?

Just a guess, yet may be techs other Civs have researched 

At first I thought the same thing.  But I have noticed it changes dramatically when you save and reload the game.

A bunch now use the Gray/White backgrounds.

This can happen if you reload a save.

Will slowly go away after a few turns.

There is one branch of the tech tree that this stays the like this.

Do not recall if there are other causes.

Courtneyme, Dorian Discord and Steam have much more active forums as this forum is lightly visited.

Still post your Typos/Bugs here but for discussions those two forums are much better.

FYI this is another bug they have not stepped on yet.

I do not know for sure but it might have a lower priority than some others that actually cause game play problems.

Might even be one of the Modding Community has already put out a temporary fix.

Understand if it is lower priority as it is merely cosmetic. 

I believe this is a bug, next time you see it could you send over a save?

Thanks Gypsy. Discord seems pretty chaotic as if to anyone responds. Yet, your point is taken. I've asked how to engage the battle viewer a few times and have rec'ved zero answers.
