What is up with the dialog (1.9)?
It's been bugging me for a bit now, but after the 1.9 update I felt it was time to mention it.
Mostly I don't mind how the AI responds to me.
But I don't want 'words put in my mouth' when 'speaking' with the computer opponents. I just had a computer player ask for peace. My only no option involved telling them my people wanted revenge? I should be able to just decline the request, and in a multiplayer game write a short message back to a human player.
In older versions of GalCiv when I took a slavers planet, the first thing I did was free the people, destroyed all the slave related buildings, trashing the planets production. I don't ever remember the people saying thanks in boosted morale, but I felt it was the only right thing to do. So it really takes me out of the game when you right stuff for my response.
Another issue, that silly event where we figure out we are being watched by all powerful beings and can ask them to make things harder or easier? Another take me out of the game item that I'd like to see removed.
You want to write campy lines, you have civs that can spout them like the jar jar binks of GalCiv, and I can choose not to use them in my games.
