Playability Improvements Suggestions

Hi All,

A little background - played all the galcivs including the latest test editions. Love 4X space games in general. I usually play largest galaxy, slowest research and production, max planets and about 12 players in god difficulty. I like the epic struggles. So that is the perspective this player. I think the UI changes I ask for below though would be appropriate for about all players.

1) Please make it so I can redirect all ships of a certain class to a new waypoint. It is quite a pain and time consuming to change them when you have hundreds of ships in transit.

2) Please put back in the upgrade of ships from class A to class B. The mass upgrade option like galciv3 had - not the create a waypoint, break my fleet down to individuals, then select each one at a time.

3) Please make ship movement faster in game play. Not move farther but the actual real time it takes to move late in the game is multiple seconds to move 15 hexes.

4) When moving - if a ship/planet does appear in the movement path - have an option to stop movement so I can give new orders. I imagine a true starship captain would go and attack the enemy at times rather than just flying by.

5) Please make it so when I click a hex, I don't always see the battle there. Sometimes the battle is the same space as a unit I want to give orders to but I can't get to it.

6) Please give an option on the screen to show all enemies in a selected color. It is quite difficult when the colors are close to yours or even an allies to 'see' if it is an enemy ship.

Thank You,

Zelphan

1) You can do this on the automate screen provided they aren't in fleets. Fleets have to be redirected separately. Automate is on the Policy screen and the bottom left.

2) Technically you can do this right now but they are going to take it away. If a single ship is on a rally point you can upgrade it. In GC3 it was needed because you had the whole rock paper scissors game. Now your old ship still get minor upgrades from techs but you need to build a new ship to change the module. I frequently have ships I designed in the early game do decently well in the late game.

3) You can enable Fast Move in the options. They will teleport to the new hex.

5) This is a bug. There is a work around for now and that is enable the cheat console and click the offending hex, cancel out of the screen, without clicking anything else open the console and type destroy. They are aware of this.

6) 100% agreed. I even posted something earlier today to let me change my faction color any time i want in game because I play terran resistance and Mimot is the same color. I'll play Xeloxi and they are the same as Torians.

Thanks:)

1) I never looked at automate - cool it is there:)

2) yeah, but after researching the bulkhead adds or the upgraded wpn module it is just a pain.

3) If you do this though you never even 'see' the enemy ships that were just out of sight and you move past. I do enable it at times as long as I have cleaned out all their little ship groups.

Thanks for the feedback
