Invasion bug. Cant build capital.

I'm currently playing a game (1.05 in main branch). I just successfully invaded an AI core world. I assigned a governor but when I went into the world management screen the option for build a core capital was missing. Is this a known bug?

Now that you mention it - I've seen that too.  Something like that should be on a bug list somewhere.

It is. Saves are useful though.

If I remember correctly from previous posts, this is not considered a bug.  The explanation was that when you attacked, the capitol was destroyed.  I do not remember why you could not build a new capitol.

Ah. That's a good point. Hadn't thought of the angle.  Although one could then make the argument that a few of the other planetary improvements should be destroyed as well. Like a few of those 15 Research buildings.........

Even if I accept the logic that the capital was destroyed in the invasion. Their is no logical reason why your prevented from rebuilding the capital.  Also worth pointing out the AI had this world as core for a number of turns so its bit odd that not one improvement was built.

I'm still at war with the AI so plan in taking another few core worlds, I'll keep this thread posted with what I find,

I do not know if the explanation is true or not but, assuming that it is, unless every cell that can be developed is developed when you assume ownership, how would you know what had been developed and is now destroyed?

This is another example of an improvement the devs can make.  If improvements were destroyed during the invasion, why not graphically show the destroyed improvements and give the players the option to clear the destruction and build new improvements on the cell?  This should include building a new capitol!

Ok a couple of updates.  I've found that if you take a core world that has an AI governor with the opportunistic trait the core capital is in place.

I also noticed that on the initial invaded world that I couldn't build the capital on its stats indicate it has a capital.  That is to say when you mouse over the citizens morale and the worlds manufacturing you see the bonus stats you get from the core world capital.

So its there you just cant see it or place.  So this is definitely a bug.

Ah thanks peterh1979. Yeah, I believe there are a lot of things that could be tightened up with invasions.  I remember in GCIII there were invasion issues as well but the devs fixed them so I'm certain they'll fix them at some point.
