So, out of curiosity, I decided to try some experiments with the slipstream loop bug and got some results that might be interesting to the devs.
To start with, here's the path it takes and the first slipstream is where the bug happen:
Then I observed where the test subject landed on either side of the slipstream during the bug, then placed a starbase at both ends, which prevents the bug from happening:
Doing some further testing on this:
Placing the starbase on the left side prevents the bug from happening, also worked for the AI since they happened to go through at the same time
Placing the starbase at the right side location only doesn't stop the bug:
Placing the starbase on the left side like this also prevents it:
Testing different positions:
test 1: Does not stop the bug.
test2 (on the right side for completeness): Does not stop the bug.
Test 3: (back on the left side) I placed them on the sides a bit further apart and that doesn't prevent it.
