I have waited a long time for MP to be implemented in the GC4 beta. I had assumed that it would be similar to MP in GC3. I am not pleased with the available game type modes in MP games .
I began a game with 2 humans and 4 AI players. I picked Agenda as game type. I picked Starburst - 5 sectors as galaxy type.
In my starting sector, the other human is only halfway across the sector from me. In addition, there are at least two other AI players in this sector. So out of six races playing, at least 4 are in my sector.
My victory condition is 'Capture 5 Precursor Worlds'. This is totally unreasonable as, after building up my empire with 4 core worlds and some colonies, I am totally boxed in by the other human and the AI players. I have found not even one Precursor World.
All my friend and I wish to do, is play MP against a picked number of AI players, with typical galaxy setup choices and multiple choices for victory conditions, including Prestige points.
We have played GC3 MP this way for years. Could you please implement this style of MP play, in the GC4 beta? Otherwise we will have to drop playing the GC4 beta in MP mode, and go back to GC3 MP.
Otherwise, we love how this game is shaping up.
