Enemy colony ship changed hands when attacked

Hi There,

 

I had one of my commander ships attack an enemy colony ship and the strangest thing happened.  With its hitpoints at 1/20 after batttle it became under my control.  Its okay, really you dont have to fix this one....

Shipname of the colony ship is DES-Occupier 20 outside planet Boyajian V.

This is normal.  It happens nearly every time a colony ship is attacked.

The only time I'm sure it doesn't happen is when a space monster attacks a colony ship.  The colony ship is destroyed and an infant space monster appears in its place.  I think a pirate ship destroys a colony ship, but I'm not sure.  EDIT:  Now that I think about it more, I'm not sure a pirate ship will attack a colony ship.  I think they just wait until a colony is settled, then capture it.

Precursor sentinals capture colony ships that way.  All the AI also capture them that way.

Huh, thats an odd feature for the game, but thanks for letting me know its intended behavior.

I have to decommission the captured colony ship. Check first, to make sure they empty.
