I'm playing as the Xeloxi. This screenshot shows how much I can see without exploring that much.
The area seems to be expanding every few turns like it's influence. I do have no FOW in my territory, but I don't have full visibility in those areas that I can see objects. I certainly haven't explored them.
When I automate a survey ship, it doesn't go to an anomaly that is close but is in an area where I can see it, but the area isn't fully visible. Instead, the survey ship goes to an anomaly that is far away but is actually visible because it is in an area that has been explored.
Is this normal for the Xeloxi? I didn't see anything in the change log that mentioned this ability.
EDIT
After saving the game and loading the save, what is visible is now like it has been in the alpha.I haven't played any turns yet to see what happens.
EDIT 2
After two turns and building a starbase, the extra visibility returned.I need to do more testing.
EDIT 3
I loaded the save again and again didn't have the extra visibility. This time I didn't build the starbase, but the visibility expanded to what it was earlier.
Also, that screenshot shows I've met a minor race. I can't talk to them because I don't have universal translator and can't research it. I guess this means I can't research it until I've met a major race. I think meeting a minor race should also grant that ability.
Finally, that screenshot shows that the scarcity of resources doesn't exist in this game. I don't remember my setting for resources, but it's the same I've been using. I think this is a welcome change, but I may decide to decrease the amounts in my next game.
