Well unless the deal with Gamestop flat out precludes you from doing it... Bring back Drengin.net and handle the comparatively few founders in house?
Probably not worth the headache but it is sad that such a thing isn't really possible anymore... one would think with the competition that Epic is bringing Steam would be more developer friendly rather than less..
Yea, in an ideal world, we'd do that. But nowdays, running one of these stores is a huge undertaking. Now, different states demand us to collect taxes for the user (that's a relatively recent change). VAT costs. And lots of other headaches. Even on our software we use Fast Spring under the covers.
One doesn't run their own store casually.
